Today, may 29th 2023 myself my husband and two children called the peconic paddler yesterday to find out their hours and if they were doing the 7 mile trip. To which the woman on the phone said they were. We arrived today and they told ** they only accepted cash. To which we then went to an ATM, took out money and came back. We paid for two canoes for the 5 mile because they told ** that the 7 mile was not open even though when we called the day prior they told us they were. we didnt complain. We just said we would do the 5 mile trip. We paid $130 and was given no receipt and was brought out to **** river where they dropped ** and we were to head back east towards *********. We made it about a quarter mile down the river and the wind was at that time approximately 18 miles an hour. The wind completely turned ** around multiple times before we finally turned back around towards the dock we were dropped off at and had to call Peconic peddler to come and pick us up. We didnt even spend 30 minutes on the water we had to sit and wait 45 minutes for the van to come pick us up because they told ** they were dropping somebody off at the 7 mile trip which we were just told that morning that was unavailable. we finally got picked up by the van and back to Peconic paddler in ********* to which we asked for partial refund and or a credit for ** to be able to come back another time. The owner refused to even come out and speak to us, was not willing to give us partial credit, or even partial refund , he was defiant and completely rude and not a good business owner to come out and talk to us. I would like my $130 back now just because of the principle that the owner wasnt willing to help in anyway. Also if the gave us paperwork or receipt with a statement saying hey its windy out there, canoe at your own risk, I would understand but nothing was said!!!!
