This occurred on December 20, 2021, and I was charged at 1:15 PM. Auth code: ***** and or #****. Ryan the technician from Paris heating did a routine maintenance check on my furnace. My furnace was working perfectly fine prior to Ryan arriving. When Ryan performed his checks, he stated that everything looked good. Shortly after Ryan leaving, my furnace stopped working. I called the operator and Ryan to make them aware that there was no heat in my house, and I needed someone to help because I have my newborn baby in the home, and it was extremely cold. Ryan came over and told me that there was an issue with the door switch. After that he goes on to tell me that the switchboard looks fine but later says that my generator messed up the “board algorithm” without even explaining what that means. This was a lie because my generator was installed over a month ago and I never had any problems with the furnace until the technician started messing around with the furnace. He goes on to state that I needed a new switchboard, and he does not know if it will be available, but it will be costly, so he said my options are to buy a switchboard or a new furnace. All of this is problematic because I had to take my newborn baby and family to a hotel to stay warm and I spent $391.80 for a problem that the technician created. I hired another HVAC company the next morning to fix the problem created by Ryan. Ryan lied and the issue had nothing to do with the switchboard and everything to do with what he did to my furnace. Here is what Ryan did to cause this: the power switch for the unit was acting odd and Ryan did not realize this, so he removed the bottom door switch when he cut the wires and when cutting the wires, he hit the flame sense wire with his strippers which ended up shorting the unit out. Another HVAC company fixed it (invoice attached with evidence of findings) and assured me that this was absolutely not something that had been like this before, and it was caused by Ryan.
