Heater was installed with code violations and chimney testing was failing and vendor was refused to remedy the problem and attempted to charge more and caused inspection postponementBusiness response

Mr ***** approved our proposal for the installation of (3) gas fired furnaces and (1) standard domestic water heater which included (3) aluminum chimney liners at (3) of his properties. It was discovered during installation that the chimney at ** ******** street failed the chimney inspection due to wood framing within the chimney. This chimney was being used to vent (2) standard hot water heaters (1) of which we had installed as a part of the above proposal. We provided Mr. ***** a solution which was the installation of (2) power vented hot water heaters along with providing a credit for the standard water heater previously installed. Mr. ***** approved the installation and we scheduled the work. The day before our installation, Mr. ***** contacted us and cancelled the installation. Two weeks later he contacted us to reschedule the work and it is our understanding that he was not satisfied with the installation date given. Mr. ***** took it upon himself to hire another contractor to perform the work. We have offered Mr. ***** a credit for the non-installed chimney liner and along with a credit for the standard water heater that had been installed. It is our understanding that Mr. ***** expects us to pay for the work performed by another contractor which is not acceptable to us as we had provided an acceptable solution.
