Vlaimir Kifor, owner of Rochester Pro Roofing, has ignored many of my requests per email and phone call to redo and correct the problem areas. He refuses to redo the aluminum siding in the back of my house where he cut it too short, exposing underneath. Also the area on the lower front roof, the shingles need to be replaced and installed correctly next to the siding and alot of old caulking removed that's causing leaking at the corner channel. Vladimir lied to me stating that he would install an aluminum strip between the drip edge and gutter in the upper and lower levels to prevent the rain from running between them, but he only installed it on the lower level. I've had many issues with the roof since he installed it in May 2021. I have hired another roofer to redo and correct the above mentioned problems since he is not responding to more than 12 emails since August 2023. Vladimir gave me permission to hire another roofer by not responding to my emails. He needs to reimburse me for the cost of the work done by another roofer. The amount for the work is $2,700. The estimates for the work are enclosed.

      Business response

      10/27/2023

At Rochester Pro Roofing, we take great pride in our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. We appreciate any feedback and would love to address any concerns a customer may have. Since the completion of ********* roofing project in 2021, we have been dedicated to resolving any issues that have arisen, as per our warranty. We've diligently responded to all requests for assistance and made repairs based on the feedback provided. Such as, but not limited to, replacing siding, seal coating the driveway & install sealant where requested, all free of charge. In August of 2021, ******* notified Rochester Pro Roofing that she had 2 long-time experienced roofing contractors to inspect the work done on the roof. Vladimir responded and arrived the same day of the voiced concerns. Vladimir gave the roof a clean bill of health. In July of 2023 ******* had another roofing contractor inspect her roof. After this, Vladimir had inspected an issue where ******* claimed the roof was leaking, but after looking into it, Vladimir notified ******* that her home's siding is causing her issues and it was not a warrantable claim. In August of 2023, ******* claims to have found issues with the roof that were not concerns of  the three previous roofing contractors. ******* demanded that we replace that area of the roof. According to our warranty, this is not a warrantable claim and we communicated that we will not do the requested work. After this, ******* began using threats of bad reviews, litigation, unwelcome visits to our office & going to the press to get reimbursed for the work that she wanted done equal to $2,700. We wish to clarify that, on the advice of our legal counsel, we were advised to cease communication on this matter, due to the various threats that were made during our interactions. At Rochester Pro Roofing we are committed to incredible customer service. We strive to provide quality roofing services to all of our customers. We operate in good faith. Rochester Pro Roofing has never agreed to reimbursing ******* for the requested $2,700, and her assertion that our lack of response implies agreement is misleading and operates in bad faith. If ******* has a warrantable claim, we would be more than willing to remedy those issues. The issue that ******* has voiced is not a warrantable claim. We propose resolving *******'s issues by involving a truly independent and unbiased home inspector to inspect the exterior of her home. Any issues directly related to Rochester Pro Roofing's work that the inspector identifies will be addressed by us at no cost to *******.

      Customer response

      11/03/2023

Vladimir Kifor, Rochester Pro Roofing, is very dishonest in his BBB response.  Vladimir didn't act as a dedicated worker and wasn't diligent in responding, I had to resend emails for a response. He was dedicated in getting new roofing jobs and since I paid him already, the problems he created on my roof was not a priority. The aluminum siding was damaged and ripped when Roch Pro Roofing was installing the roof. The other experienced roofers, Aug 2021, came to assess the problems with the new roof, new overhang/soffit, and the replaced siding. Vladimir did not come over that same day to give it a bill of health, or any other day to make that statement. I called Vladimir and told him what they found wrong. The siding Vladimir replaced was cut too short exposing the wall underneath (not to code). The shingles along the entire roof edge were cut too short, code states to overlap the drip edge by 1/2"-3/4", but was cut flush with the roof edge with no overlap, causing rain leaking between the drip edge and gutter. Soffit on the new overhang was not installed properly and Vladimir cut both ends too short leaving gaps at each end. Also one end was not secured properly (not to code). I had a gutter/soffit experienced contractor fix those problems with Vladimir's permission and Vladimir reimbursed me, April 2022. In July 2023, another experienced roofer came to inspect the problem with the rain leaking between the gutter and drip edge and gave me an estimate to correct that problem. I sent it to Vladimir to fix it, but Vladimir only did the work on the lower level gutter, but not the upper level gutter which is longer. The contractor stated it was a drip edge issue, not siding. In Aug 2023, Vladimir came to the check the leak on lower level roof near front entrance. all he did was caulk 2 nails and didn't take photos as I requested of the area where it was leaking near corner channel. So I removed the window screen and looked down at the area where Vladimir was supposed to fix the leak and instead I saw a row of shingles that weren't installed properly next to the siding with gaps next to the siding and between the shingles, there was a large amount of old sunken caulking near the leak area and other areas along the siding. This was Vladimir's last visit and no communication since then. I warned Vladimir, not threatened him, about filing with the BBB and negative reviews because in the past that's the only way I would get a response from him who repeatedly ignored my emails. I never went to Vladimir's office because he doesn't have one. Vladimir's business address is a Storage Facility, not an office. So Vladimir is lying again about unwelcomed visits to his office. Vladimir had my driveway seal coated only because the dumpster he had on my driveway leaked rust and couldn't be removed and I just had my driveway sealed the previous year. Also, the only reason he replaced the siding was because Roch Pro Roofing damaged and ripped the siding while they installed the roof. Vladimir's proposal for an independent inspector has already been done with 3 independent experienced companies that inspected and assessed the damage Roch Pro Roofing created. The problems I'm having with the roof and siding is under Vladimir's warranty since Roch Pro Roofing caused the problems. Vladimir received the estimates/invoices to have these problems corrected. Therefore, Vladimir needs to reimburse me $2,700 for the warranty work he refuses to do.
