Horrifically disappointed. Paid good money to simply have my taxes filed. I had to follow up with Annette to see if my taxes were submitted before the tax deadline and they were not. After pressing her on the point and asking why they were not filed, she completely ghosted me and locked me and my wife out of our tax portal. We have not received a refund and are disputing the entire contract with the credit card company as ZERO services were rendered. I want a Refund.Initial Complaint

In July of 2022 I hired the Tax Experience to file my 2021 taxes and paid $350 for the service. In that year I had sold my home following divorce and explained the situation. In August 2022 I reached back out to the Tax Experience after letters from the IRS came back showing I owed $14816 for federal and $4619 to NY State. I asked why the amounts were so high and was told "This is because of the capital gains from the sale of the house." With this answer, I went ahead and paid the amounts, wiping out my savings for a future home. After doing my own research and talking to several people explained that an error was made in the filing, noting that my home was an income property and not my primary residence. I reached out again to the Tax Experience and after many emails from Oct. 2022 to Feb. 2023 finally got an appointment where I was told an amended tax form would be sent to the IRS. Following this appointment I had attempted to check in with the Tax Experience several times on the status of resolving this issue. None of my emails were not returned from March to May including my request for a copy of the confirmation that a 1040x was filed and because of the lack of communication, I suspected that it had not in fact been filed. I spoke to a Ms. ****** at the IRS on May 12, 2023 and was told that NO AMENDED FORM HAD BEEN FILED electronically! I now have had to hire an accountant to file the amendment, costing an additional $150.
