My complaint consist of several parts pertaining to the same issue I paid $500 for 2 Leopard Tortoise which were Christmas gifts for my Granddaughter I received one with the assurance from the store owner/manager **** and employee ***** the I would receive the other on or before Christmas Day that never happened I eventually received the other tortoise 2/2024 and after 3 months of receiving the first tortoise she died I'm not sure if the fact that the tortoise was under 4 inches (which I later found out was illegal to sale a tortoise under 4 inches in the **) had something to do with her dying considering the life span of these reptiles are up to 120 yrs On May 16 I was told the replacement Leopard tortoise was at the shop and I could pick her up I told ***** it didn't look like a Leopard he assured me it was I told him when I got to Md I was going to confirm and if it wasn't I was bringing it back , I want what I paid for when I got to Md I took the tortoise to a pet store and was told it was not a Leopard and it appeared to be a Russian tortoise I did reach out to **** via phone first she started yelling at me when I tried to explain what the pet store told me stating I had the tortoise for 3 months (when in fact I had just picked it up) she then hung up on me. I have text, photos of all 3 tortoise and I asked my Granddaughter could we keep Princess(the first tortoise) in the freezer til I get this matter resolve. I even explained to ***** this has been very hard on my family in addition to disappointing my granddaughter now twice about her tortoise, she's also dealing with the fact that her dad (my son) is fighting colon cancer. I am seeking to get my $250 so I can go somewhere else and replace the tortoise and be done with this a focus on my son and his condition. I returned the tortoise on Saturday May 25th 2024 gave them a week before petitioning for help in resolving this matter.
