I had a conveher toaster that the top element wasnt going on when switched on. I called Duffys and they wanted to charge me to come out and look at it....I told them i would bring it down to their shop to avoid that fee. I dropped it off...guy checked it in and gave me a tag.....3 weeks went by....I called back and they said they didnt know anything about it. I was upset because im a diner and need my toaster. So he said they will get to it....I then went down to get it since i didnt want to wait any longer....in that time they "diagnosed" the problem but i had already had someone fix it. $20 switch and 10 min fix. Well Duffys calls me and says the element is bad and a bunch of other stuff and will be $816 to fix it.....I said forget it. Well now they are sending me $150 bill for diagnosing it....I just told them i am calling BBB because first they are making up things that are wrong with it which were not and then when you tell them you dont want it.....they are trying to bill me for saying they looked at it. I told them i dont think so since what they are billing me for wasnt even the problem. So I am not paying for them to make up some diagnosis that they probably didnt even do since they didnt even know the toaster was there. I just told them the element wasnt working but thats because is had a bad switch....Element was actually fine.
