Bellamy Remodeling Bellamy remodeling just completed a four-month project on our home and we couldn’t be happier. The project involved reconstruction of our sunroom including reframing, new windows, lighting, sheetrock, taping and painting, and flawless finish carpentry including refinishing an oak bar. The project also included a major overhaul of the main house including two new stone chimneys, three new skylights, a new hot water heater and a new roof including construction of a new eave and installing new gutter caps. The design phase was smooth and included all permits and a complete set of plans. The process was thoughtfully carried out at the direction of foreman (Dan). Barriers were placed to minimize dust in the house (in which we were living) and the worksite was cleaned at the end of each day. Changes and additions were seamlessly implemented. This is the fourth major project that Bellamy Remodeling was done for us including a custom kitchen and a master bedroom and bathroom suite. We are happy to recommend them highly !Review from James W

Bellamy Remodeling did a great job updating our kitchen and remodeling our baths. From the beginning, Greg and his staff led us through product selection, provided ideas, expertise, and a project plan. The Bellamy crew was excellent, they took every precaution possible to keep us comfortable in our home while they worked the project. We are very happy with the results and would certainly recommend them for any remodeling project!Review from Louis B

I hired Bellamy for a new/remodeled covered front porch. The workmanship was excellent. The attention to detail was excellent. The workers went above and beyond. The porch came out better than I could have hoped for. The communication from estimate to project completion was fantastic. I was so impressed with the work done that shortly after this project I hired them to repair a bedroom plaster ceiling. This job came out wonderful as well. In both projects the house was left in clean condition at the end of each work day. Highly recommended!Review from Susan R

Bellamy has a great reputation here in my town so I didn't hesitate to call them. After the initial visit, they agreed to add me to their list and I'd probably be waiting for 4 months until they could get to me. I ended up waiting 5 months but it was well worth the wait. When they began, they came every weekday until the project was finished. The work was meticulously planned by Dan (and he conferred with another of the company's contractors), and carefully carried out, in a very timely manner. And Dan kept every workspace very clean. Couldn't ask for more.Review from Carol H

Improvement of the porch, which included the following: · Replacement of the floorboards, involving also strengthening of floor supports; · Replacement of horizontal boards as needed, including addition of sections which did not have them; · Molding around the base of columns; · Painting as needed; · Removal of existing carpeting and replacement with comparable carpeting. These activities were handled with minimal intrusion and completed in a competent and timely manner, though supply issues may have limited the schedule. Debris was contained and removed as the project proceeded. The carpeting was replaced with what has seemed to be a better product. The previous carpeting, typical indoor/outdoor carpet; was installed for 20 years, and until some inconsistencies appeared in underlying boards, was acceptable. After the new carpeting was installed, it has been noted that because of the way the replacement boards align, it is now possible to see where each board joins the next, as a sort of line shows where the carpet straddles from one board to the next. This does not look quite as uniform as the previous carpeting had when installed, and possibly might be an issue over time. However, overall the project is successful and more attractive and long-lasting than before, particularly as far as the structure goes.
Investigation of an apparent leak in the bedroom bay window and replacement/repair of inside seat. This included: • Investigation of cause of the leak, by Bellamy personnel; • Various methods used to try and return the seat to its original appearance, either through a combination of sanding and staining treatments or other options. Unfortunately, this seemed to be difficult to achieve. The original window, including the seat, had been installed as one unit. Since the window would not be replaced, and the exterior roofing did not seem to cause the problem, [INSERT ROOFER or other comments here] this took time to come up with a solution. Several methods were tried. We were not informed at each stage exactly why there was such difficulty and why it took so long—the window seat was finally completed and installed at the end of December, when we had anticipated it would be done in October. Each time the seat (or its possible replacement) was worked on, it was removed from the premises, then re-installed, which also caused concerns with the wall treatments, window frame moldings, etc. We learned of the problem’s extent each time by viewing it after installation and seeing the bubbling coming up on the seat, and then asking what would be the next step. I don’t think we realized that it was a sort of experiment in which we were being asked to provide a solution, as we didn’t know anything about it. We were a bit of a learning curve! We would prefer 3.5 stars for this--it took quite a lot longer than expected, and could have been managed better, but final work was quite satisfactory.
4 stars for roof, 5 for toilet replacement. Removal of moss from roof, installation of zinc strip, and adding gutters to one side of house. Though the roofer’s contact with us was later than we had anticipated, it appears that all that was requested was completed to our satisfaction. He was also agreeable to leaving us a piece of the zinc strip to install on our potting shed, and in fact, installed it as well. Replacement of downstairs toilet and connections. This was not originally included in the proposal, but should have been. It was added in and accomplished with no problems, and some small ancillary work was done as well by the plumber on the job, which we appreciated.
