I contacted this company and obtained a flat rate. I discussed with the representative that I was on a tight budget as I am disabled and have been homeless for 6 months. I was told I had to pay a deposit quickly in order to lock in the rate and date I needed. I paid the deposit on a Mastercard and only after I paid was I told that if I did not pay the balance in cash that I would be subject to additional fees. They have refused to refund my deposit stating that I accepted the terms even though they changed the terms of the agreement after I paid.

We spoke to the customer yesterday regarding her concern about the deposit. As stated to the customer, we have a strict cancellation policy that was stated on the terms and conditions. The customer agreed to those terms before leaving the deposit. Customer was asked if she would like to cancel the move. The customer stated they did not want to cancel the move. The customer is still currently on our schedule to be moved this week. If the customer wishes to not move forward with her move , her deposit will be held for another move she may want to do in the future. So the customer will not technically not lose the deposit , it just will be held for a future move for the customer.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The terms of paying the balance by cash to avoid incurring additional fees was NOT presented prior to payment. Instead I was urged to pay a deposit right away VIA CARD.  I have since asked what the smallest move would be so that I may utilize that deposit without incurring additional fees/costs with no response but to call. I want all communication in writing moving forward as I was not told of all of the pricing information over the phone initially.

The customer had to agree to the terms before completing the deposit.

*** moved multiple times over the last 15 years and never had such a horrible experience with a moving company. At first the two movers were friendly and helpful. As they were loading up a mini van, not even a moving truck, they broke and damaged three of my items. First, the one mover came in and said there was a bicyclist that ran into my planter and it broke. I immediately thought thats strange because theres no bicycle lane outside. The planter and pot was over $150 from overseas. I called my management office and they immediately sent me surveillance tape showing the mover dropping my item and breaking it. I called and told their customer agent immediately yet I am still being told they cannot actually fix anything. Next, I find it interesting other people are saying they disassembled and reassembled furniture. These movers kept complaining about a two seater couch and how they dont do that as part of their process. Upon arriving at my new place, they ripped the paint off my wood coffee table. Lastly, I have been sleeping on my couch because they broke my bed frame piece that holds my mattress. They failed to properly care for the pieces and bent the entire support frame. The frame cannot support any weight due to the structural damage from the movers. I have been back and forth with their management and they are stating their liability is $0.60 per lb and offered me a fraction of what anything cost. The one mover kept insinuating they were not equipped for my move and the other was in training. I have no idea how legal or liable this business is but Ive learned my ******* The least they could do is actually admit their faults and be a professional company handling these matters accordingly and hiring legitimate workers who are trained for the job. They also demanded CASH only payment for this service which indicates they are falsifying classified tax documents.

We're currently under talks with **** and have reviewed her claim. It's pretty straightforward. We have the same basic cargo insurance that every moving company has which we have gone well above and beyond to settle ****'s claims. We feel after looking at the photos that the settlement is very fair and well above our contractual obligations. We value all our customers and would love to resolve this whole matter.
