I went to Island Volkswagon on Staten Island to trade in a car which was a ************************************************************* and paid off the loan amount and put me in a 2019 Volkswagon tiguan Which the payment was $650 with an ad on plan for tire protection to make the payment $750 each month they did not ask me for paystubs and my credit was not good at the time they told me that I was approved for the loan But once I paid it off for the year on time every month that I could come back and that would help my credit and get me into a cheaper payment with a lower interest rate I didnt make enough to even ***************** to be able to make sense of the payment And the interest rate is ****% also they added on the equity of the car. I traded in onto the new loan so I was already in negative equity with the car so they knew they would not be able to trade it in for me after the year I feel like I was part of predatory lending due to my credit score and My race me and my significant other walked together. I look Spanish and he is African-American. I feel like because they thought I was an easy target to get wrapped up in a loan I would not be able to get out of, and rather than fix my credit its hurting my credit because I cannot get out of this car loan because I will always be in negative equity and the car is not worth what the trade-in value would give me. Ive tried several times to ask them and other dealerships how I can get out of this Payment and trade it in to get a lower payment or interest-rate and every dealership has told me there is nothing they can do other than for me to pay off the negative equity, and then trade the car in and still have to put money down this dealership from what Im seeing does this to a lot of people and they are part of lawsuits are ready for predatory lending. I need help with getting out of this loan to lower my interest rate or lower the payment. I dont think Im asking for too much from them.

I came to purchase a 2023 Jetta on October 5th, 2023 from Island Volkswagen. I told them that my grand daughter would be using this vehicle sometimes and wanted all the safety systems. They showed me the Jetta but there were no window stickers on any vehicle they showed me. I took the car home and my grand daughter told me there were no collision avoidance systems in the car. Also, the phone doesn't work properly on the carplay. There is a echo and distortion that makes it unusable. They spent 5 hours trying to fix it to no avail. Now I have a car that my grand daughter can't use because there is no hand free or safety systems. I called the dealer and told them this. Their response was that they couldn't get computer chips out of ***** and why didn't I know this from the news. They also told me it was on the window sticker that it was taken off the price. I told them that I told them a wanted a car with all the safety measures and that I was never showed the window sticker and it was slyly put in the packet they gave me. They told me they couldn't do anything for me and it was tuff luck. I feel that they took advantage of me because of my age. This is a horrible way to do business. I talked to sales people, managers. I've been ignored, told they would get back to me, come to the dealership but still have been ignored. They screwed me over and left me holding the bag. A very sneaky way of doing business especially to a returning customer.

I was sold a Certified Used Car that turned out to be a Lemon. Multiple problems with vehicle since day after purchase. Brakes both front and back, dealer replaced back brakes next day. Said front brakes were good, which was a lie. Car was leased previous to my purchase, no history of any brakes changed. If back brakes were due, front brakes had the same wear and should have been replaced also. Brakes squeak and grind when driving, no matter the weather outside. Tire tread poor, both front and back. Engine making unusual noise, rattling. Engine leaks oil since day one. Brought for an oil change consultation and was told to bring this car back to where you got it from the engine should NOT sound this way. Inappropriate acceleration. Inappropriate deceleration. Steering unbalanced. Electric shortages while driving ie: radio shut down without reason. Screen shut off while driving without reason. Volume control disabled for no reason, while driving. Passenger seatbelt alarm going off while there is no person in the front passenger seat, also happens while driving. Alignment is off, car veers to the right while driving. Transmission / gear change is janky. Car over accelerates inappropriately. Its scary and feels unsafe to drive. Key needs replacement, as well as I was only given one key upon delivery of vehicle. When contacted VW about additional key, was told it would cost an additional $400. Car alerted for low oil level . Took to VW of the Bronx. They topped off the oil, after confirming that it was low, and possible leak. Was told to return if anything. Since oil top off car has been making more noise. Literally feels like its going to fall apart at any moment. Noise when driving, turning wheel, any direction, in any weather. Contacted dealer several times, with no resolve. Contacted alternative VW dealer, was told car was fine. Contacted third party which facilitated car sale, referred me back to dealership. What now??
