We had a Closing on one of our homes on June 15, 2023 (***************************************************). The process went generally went smoothly, with the the usual internal gymnastics associated with any Closing as real estate is an emotional issue.There is just one outstanding issue pertaining to some monies distributed at Closing. In particular, there was a disagreement on small amount of money ($300.00) in which the Seller (me) and the Buyer could not come to terms. In order to facilitate the Closing, the *********** Broker (*** *********************** agreed to bridge the gap and provide the necessary funding (the $300) to me. This agreement was witnessed by my attorney (***************************), the Buyers attorney, and everyone else in the room at the Closing.I therefore agreed to Close.Unfortunately, this was a lie. Despite numerous attempts by me and my attorney, *** ********************** has failed to provide me with the owed $300. This is despite the fact he earned more than $20,000 on the transaction and we only elected to use *** ********************** as favor due to a personal relationship maintained by my son-in-law with *** **********************'s brother.We are at a loss on the way forward and we are hoping you can assist in resolving this matter. I am 79 years old a recently lost my wife so I certainly do not need this type of stress. We have not file a lawsuit in Small Claims Court as we are looking for any/all alternative means to resolve this outside of litigation.We will file a complaint with the ***** of ******** also.
