  I hired Mr. Thomas in the spring of 2021 for the installation of a standing seam metal roof. At the time of contract, I was asked for half of the total cost. Because I had hired him previously to fix a leak, I was confident in his ability and provided the payment. Due to Covid, Mr. Thomas explained the delivery of the metal pieces were delayed by the supply company. I was as understanding as possible. He removed the shingles off of a part of the roof and set down underlayment. That November, he reached out with the same explanation (after having given many excuses and disappeared for periods of time with no contact) and suggested we start again the following spring, insisting the underlayment would prevent any damage. A second contract was drawn up. Come spring, more of the roof was stripped and Mr. Thomas requested additional payment. As it seemed things were finally underway and proof of material order was provided to me, I agreed to provide an additional 75% of the remaining half. After this, I could no longer get a hold of him. I spoke with a local trooper regarding the matter who investigated, only to find the proof of order was forged with a previous invoice/receipt for past clients. I then hired another company to review the work previously done and found much of it was incorrect. I have also experienced issues due to exposed areas. The trooper called Mr. Thomas to confront the forged documentation and demanded work be started August 1st of 2022. The supply company was well aware of the situation and confirmed only 1/4 of the materials needed were ordered with “cash upon delivery”. I demanded all be ordered (allowing 2 additional weeks as that is the time required to fulfill a supply order) and this never happened. I hired an attorney and Mr. Thomas said he would like to avoid court, agreed to refund payment, and then completely disappeared when the agreement was sent to him for signature and the first of several payments he said he could pay.

  Hired MZX Construction in early 2021 to install a new metal roof. I immediately had leaks, they were resolved, however a new one came up and I have been unable to reach Bob T****** the owner.

  We were looking to replace our 20-year-old roof and a friend recommended Bob/MZX Construction. We met with Bob and showed him the roof as well as an area in the house that was leaking through to the living room floor (next to the chimney). He said he'd take care of the leak, install a new roof, and guarantee his work for $15,000. He completed the work in May 2021 and we paid him in full. The chimney area continued to leak, so we made multiple calls to Bob asking him the fix the problem. In addition, there are two leaks in areas that were fine until Bob “fixed” the roof. After several broken promises, Bob returned in January 2022. He had not replaced the cap on the chimney even though the original leak was obviously from that area. He finally did so, but by now the chimney box needed to be rebuilt, so we paid him $800 for the materials to get that done. He had no response to the other leaks other than to say he would “think about it.” After the chimney repair was theoretically completed, the leak continued with the next precipitation - and the leak was worse. Despite multiple phone calls/texts, he didn't return to fix the problem. To add insult to injury, he continued to show off our house on his Facebook page as 'another great job'. Our last message to him was to take down all posts about our house and to contact us by the end of the week. He did not contact us but, oddly, took his MZX Facebook page down completely. Since that time, we have called three more roofing companies for quotes to fix the issues. They all said the same thing. Bob put nails through the roof (defeating the purpose of the shingles), inappropriately used caulk to patch problem areas, the old and damaged plywood decking was not replaced, botched the chimney rebuild, and the flashing does not meet code. Quotes to fix Bob's mess range up to $12,000 and that is only to fix the "really bad areas.” We are owed a total refund from Bob T*****, MZX Construction, 12 5th St, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090
