I ordered a custom trailer. I made the first payments on July 25, 2022. The trailer was delivered on Oct 4, 2022 when I made the final payment. The trailer broke on Oct 5. The merchant finally picked up the trailer, in order to repair it, on March 19, 2023. He said it would be returned in two weeks. He stopped communicating with me on April 17. I have contacted him by text, email, phone, and ******** messenger with no response.Business response

BBB spoke with the Business Owner and the following was relayed: She ordered a trailer for a tiny home she was going to try and build. She came here, looked at it, said it was great. We did a bunch of extra stuff for her at no cost too because we were trying to help her out with her project of building herself a home. She was going to build it on a friend's property. There is a jack on the trailer so that it can be moved. She would have to block it up like a motor home when it was stationed. We explained all of this to her well in advance and also when she came to look at it. She said everything was great. A friend of hers was helping her to build this tiny home on the trailer. This friend of hers told her that the axels had to go further away from the frame in order for the build to be able to happen. Then all of the sudden she came to us wanting more axels. We said OK, we'll drop the axels out. Again, we wanted to be nice and try to help her out. So we picked up the trailer, at my expense-- we the business paid to pick up the trailer and we paid for beams and supplies to do the axel move job. We're waiting for one of the last supply orders to arrive at the shop and that's when we started to realize something was going on. This customer started calling demanding money back. Now, look she's already gone to 2 of her credit card companies and done Chargeback Disputes. Those credit card companies have already taken close to $7,000 away from me-- for a job that I completed, that I completed well! I am also now out all the supply costs as well. What else can I give back to her, this is all costing me thousands of dollars already for doing a job that she ordered and wanted and for going out of my way to try and go above and beyond by helping her out with costs wherever I could along the way. Has she filed other Chargeback Disputes on her other cards? I can provide BBB with all of my bank paperwork that I got showing how much has been taken away from me from her Chargeback Disputes. I'm waiting to see if more money is taken from me. Thank you.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. the credit card disputes have all been denied and he will be getting all his money back. I made those disputes after months of zero communication from him. 8 months after I was originally supposed to receive a functional tiny home trailer. He stopped communicating with me, stopped answering my calls on April 17. When he picked up the trailer a month before that, he said he would have it fixed and returned to me within two weeks. The reason I want a refund is because I don’t trust him to build a sturdy trailer that will be able to hold a house, which is what I paid for. The reason for my doubt is the defects in the trailer he originally delivered AND that he has since asked ME how to build it and what materials to use. HE is the trailer builder, not me. I don’t know how to build a tiny house trailer. If I did, I would have done it myself rather than paying him $14k which is more money than I’ve ever spent on anything. He told me he could do it, and he has given me plenty reason to doubt that. When/if he delivers a functional trailer (to the specifications we agreed upon), or provides a refund, I will consider this resolved. He has lied to me over and over again and I will not accept promises, only a finished and delivered product or money back. Regards, *** **********
