I bought a 1997 ***** ****** from Hiawatha Auto, 2 days later the check engine light came on flashing with a misfiring cylinder. I went to Hiawatha Auto and was told to change the cap and rotor, why they didn't offer to fix it I don't know. Then after a month and a half the engine spun the rod bearings and who knows what else. I called that day and all I was told was that they didn't have an engine for it, so I spent all of my July 4th weekend changing the rod bearings, during the weekend Hiawatha responded with, call us if you need any help. Changing the rod bearings took away the deep knock but I still have a very loud rattle and I can't call for any help because they are closed and I am without a vehicle now. Today Hiawatha Auto has blocked me on ******** and will not respond to any of my messages or phone calls.Business response

Customer bought a 1997 ***** ****** with 236,051 miles on it on 5-18-22 left a $2000 deposit came back on 5-20-55 and paid the balance of $700. Which at that time passed NYS inspection before being sold and he signed a no warranty form. The vehicle ran perfect when he picked it up. He called on 6-30-22 said motor went bad. I told him we didn't have a motor for it. Which was approximately 6 weeks later. We never saw the vehicle after he took it. So not sure what he did or didn't do to it. We closed for vacation July 1 - July 17, 2022. They got blocked from ******** for the negative comments being made knowing we were closed for vacation. On July 18, we opened back up and he called around 8:30am we talked. He said he didn't have money to buy a motor so being a well know business I told him I would buy the motor and he would put it in himself. (Something I did not have to do.) I'm still waiting for him to call back with this agreement before I purchase the motor for him to install himself. To solve this matter and keep my company name good.
