I applied for this apartment and during the process they had incorrectly processed my financial information, despite having 6 months of bank statements, tax information, and my lawyer who wrote a detailed letter articulating my projected income. After speaking with the supervisor, they denied that they processed the wrong numbers. They proceeded to ask for a guarantor. And after again speaking with another supervisor about the mistake, they hung up the phone on me after I questioned if they ever made this mistake before. This was after accepting my $300 holding fee for the apartment. I was supposed to move in 4/1 and got denied (incorrectly) on 3/28.Business response

Per fair housing laws, we must approve tenants the same across the board. The applicant refused to provide tax return. She sent us the business S Corp tax.
Her confirmed income based on our NOVA credit screening was $29,000 which did not meet the 3 times base rent requirement.
She also refused to provide her tax return to confirm her take home amount. We requested a CPA letter or letter from attorney and as well. She had a divorce attorney draft an email 3/27/2024 at 11:12 pm. We do not return until 9 am the following morning. We informed her that her Agent was out of office, but we will review and let her know if there is anything we needed. In addition, the amount quoted did not match the W2 we received for 2023.
We told her that we will need to review and submit a ticket to our helpdesk. At the onsite level we cannot approve or send leases out without an override at the corporate level.
She also did not want to use guarantor as suggested.
The applicant did not want to wait and said she did not wish to move forward in the morning 3/29/2024 by phone. We requested the refund for $300 hold. This was communicated to her that she will be getting her refund for the hold by phone and by email.
