I was told that I needed 2 pills for my dog. The cost would be $5.50 a pill. This was to be for worms that they said he did not have. After I had picked him up after an over night stay. They had charged me for a stool sample. I went to get the pills 10-18-2021. She told me that they where $21.00. I said no I was told $5.50. She said we have a minimum of $21.00. This is not fair and should be illegal.. How many others have they (over charged)? And I was told that if I did not have all of the payment upon picking up my dog they keep the animal. I have to surrender my animal to them. This is not fair and should be looked into. How cant they get away with a minimum charge? If this is the practice and they can continue to do this they should tell the customer up front before pet care, This is not fair to the consumer and over charging them without being told up front.Business response

Recently we received a call from you regarding a complaint filed against Valley Veterinary Associates from Sandra Winner. The complaint was regarding our minimum dispensement fee's which have been in place for at least 20 years. The fee's cover not only the medications but also the vials and the labels used to dispense the medication and this was discussed at length with ******.
