On Wednesday 3/9/22 I had a vehicle delivered to me from Cabone *****, ****. It was a 2021 **** ***** ******** *******. I traded my 2019 ********* ********* which I was leasing for $500 per month. I explained when I leased the ***** ******** I would like to be at or under my current payment. The payment was $496 per month. After approximately a week and a half, I was about to remove my 1 year old daughter from the vehicle and I noticed what I thought was a piece of garbage alongside the front passenger seat on the floor. When I picked it up, I found it was a half empty bag of heroin. The bag was turned over to my local Police department. I am a Police Sgt and have been in Law Enforcement for 16 years. The only people in the vehicle in the time I had it were myself, my 6 & 1 year old children and my wife. After dealing with Carbone, for several days, they agreed to pick up the vehicle and return my down payment. I attempted to have them lease me another vehicle but they repeatedly stated they didn't have any. After attempting to find another 2021, there were none available and I had to go with a 2022 of the same vehicle. I had to put another $500 down and I am now paying approximately $30 more per month than with my truck. The manager of the dealership agreed to send me another $750 which did not make me whole but it was as much as he would offer. I still have not received the check for the $750 and he will not respond. Lithia motors is the parent company and has been rude and unresponsive.Business response

Good afternoon, This customer did not file a police report of the alleged incident and did not contact us for 2 weeks after taking delivery. In light of this fact, we hold customer satisfaction in the highest regard and gave him several options. He chose to have us take the vehicle back and we refunded his monies down. Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Craig's response is not accurate. First off I did file a police report with my local police department (Town of East Fishkill) and the Heroin bag was logged into evidence by a member of the Dutchess County Narcotics Task Force. Second it was less than two weeks and I contacted the dealership the following morning after I found the bag. I didn't inspect every inch of the car upon delivery as no one expects that a business is going to leave heroin in their new vehicle. I wasn't offered several options, I was offered (2). First being that they would have the vehicle professionally cleaned for me and the second was to take the car back. Also I attached a text message where Craig states he is going to send a $750 check to me to cover a portion of my increased cost of the vehicle I subsequently leased. He did not send that check. Also at no point did I feel like they were striving for any type of customer service. No one seemed to understand the gravity of a bag of heroin sitting just feet away from my 1 and 6 year old children. On 03-28-22 I **** ******* went to try and purchase a 2020 **** ***** ******** *******. The sales representative Kyle K*****, and the sales manager asked 2-3 times to run my credit through them. I kindly told them no thank you due to another car dealer lying about how many times they ran my credit. So I asked them to appraise my current car so I can have my bank figure out the numbers. Needless to say I asked to test drive the car, they kept with conversations. Totally disregard my asking of a test drive.. after speaking with my bank, I was advised to get a purchase agreement. My bank approved me for this purchase. I sent photos of my proof of insurance; after leaving to go to the bank for a check, for the amount of what they (Carbone Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Ram of Yorkville, N.Y.) wanted. While at the bank and after heading back to the dealer, Kyle said they’re going to start servicing the ****. On my way to Yorkville, NY from Norwich NY, he said to me that it won’t be done tonight, I said fine but I’m still coming back to test drive the vehicle. After driving it I said I loved it and wanted to go ahead and start the process.. Kyle said great I’ll let you know first thing in the AM 03-29-22; so @ 845a he sent a text stating it wouldn’t be done til next week when I return from my trip. My Husband **** ******* called them immediately to speak with the sales manager Kenny then stated he would be spoken too (Kyle k*****) and go from there. Still no phone call/status update.Business response

Good Morning, the customer purchased the vehicle 3/28/2022 and the vehicle was picked up on 3/30/2022 after the vehicle passed NY state inspection, customer has take delivery of the vehicle. If any additional information is needed please let me know and thank in advance for your help! Craig

Just horrible customer service, I’ve been waiting on a back wiper that I still have not received. I’ve had to ask them server all times to get proof of my service done to my vehicle which I think they lied about my oil change I have no sticker inside anywhere saying it was done, just on the “receipt” they gave me. Took them TWO weeks to give me the paperwork. Then I was told my wiper was on back order which I know is a lie because I can easily find it at a local auto place. I’m just getting ran al over. As soon as I signed everything and drove it off the lot does not mean customer service ends but it did end for me, not sure why because I bought a 20k vehicle from them. Also after signing everything they then told me I had to drive back out to get service done to breaks, their words “it passed inspection but you need to drive back out for service” I live in Syracuse while they are located in Utica so it wasn’t a down the street drive. I took my 07 ******** in to reprogam icp and rcdlr on Wednesday then they said icp was no good payed for new one then they said rcdlr was no good paid for new one i asked for my old parts old cluster they said ok will leave in car never did they would not answer my phone but did when i called from different number i demanded my old cluster back and they said one thousand fifty dollar core charge but new icp was only 600 theni leave and none of my tire sensors are reading guy came out said its fixed i let it came right back on carbone chevyInitial Complaint

On September 30,2021, I purchased a 2014 ***** ****** from Carbone Buick. I offered cash but they told me that financing is better. Come to find out, they charged me for a warranty and told me that every used car should have one. They sold me a junk car and a junk warranty. I returned to the dealership with my plates to transfer to my "new" car. As I arrived, the salesman, Ray told me that I couldn't take my "new" car because it won't pass inspection. They had my "new" car in the garage for two weeks to repair. After I got my car it had a loud noise and didn't feel like it had power. I took it back for repair. They did not want to repair it. My warranty is supposed to be bumper to bumper. They finally did fix the muffler noise but it took over a month for them to finally agree to fix it. I am still having problems months later. Between the dealer ships and the warranty company, it is like pulling teeth to get anything fixed. I should not have this many issues with it.
