On June 20, 2023 we paid the Observer Dispatch $207.96 for a one year subscription. Between that date and October 1, 2023 we did not receive the paper on numerous occasions (10x). It was late on several other days. We never received the paper after October 1, 2023. We (my wife and I) cancelled the subscription on October 6, 2023 and was told we would receive a refund of $148,59 in 7-10 days. After 8 calls between 10/26 and today (12/15/23) we still have not received our refund and with every call a different reason why we have not received it is given. Clearly the Observer Dispatch did not fulfill their obligation to deliver the paper to us. The total refund amount of $148.59 was a figure they arrived at - not us. The phone number we were told to contact and have done so 8 times is * *** ********. It is a facility in Texas. There is no local number to contact.Business response

I filed my initial complaint on February 3rd. I have heard nothing. The Observer Dispatch overcharged me for 4 months in 2021 (because I was only supposed to be billed for the Sunday edition and was billed for the weekly amount for July, August, September, October) and the customer service reps that I have been speaking to since October agree they owe me $166.35. However, in spite of telling me the check was sent out on December 1st, I have not received it. I have all the documentation on my 6 calls to them and copies of the overcharges. I do not know how to upload this information to you. Help, I need some guidance on this very frustrating issue. I cancelled my Sunday only subscription with them over this issue. If you can give me your address, I will gladly mail them.Business response

Please accept this as confirmation we have received Mr. *****’s complaint regarding his account. We are very sorry this has happened and the frustration this has caused. When he downgraded his account to Sunday only, there was a future-dated price increase on his account for the seven-day delivery; this should have been removed. I have requested a refund of $166.35 credited to his credit card on file. This can take up to 7-10 business days. If he would like to resume his Sunday delivery, I would be more than happy to offer him a rate of $13.00 for 13 weeks. We appreciate the opportunity to address these concerns.
