            My son who is a college student at ********** ** ********** was in an accident and the police had to have his car towed and contact this company. They towed my sons car less then 2 miles at the time of the accident no one had given my son any information about the tow. I immediately found out through the police who towed the vehicle and contacted them to find out how I could get the vehicle and I was asked who is my insurance company and that my insurance company should contact Wilcox. At no point did they disclose any fees. A few days passed and I contacted a local collision shop that was close to the Wilcox business to ask if they could give me an estimate on damages. That is when I found out all of the fees Wilcox was charging for this less than 2 mile tow. It ended up being over $1000. I found out they were charging a $85 daily storage fee, $250 wrecker fee, $350 recovery fee, $35 gate fee and $150 tow fee plus tax. I just couldn't believe it when I got that bill. My sons car was not leaking and it could be driven onto a flatbed. This has got to be illegal's

            My daughter's car was towed by them, 1.1 mile and was told it would be $675 for the car to be released to her. I asked if I could pay for it by credit card over the phone as I live 45 minutes away and wouldn't be able to get there before they close. He said sure but neglected to tell me there is a charge of 3% to use a credit card. I thought that it was illegal to charge more than quoted or even disclose added fees. Checked my bill and saw that it was almost $700!!!! Highway robbery taking advantage of a bad situation and making it worse. Remember you DON'T have to use the tow company the police call. You can request whoever you want for a tow!!!
