We contracted with Tim Christmas to build a Trex porch and steps. Upon completion of the steps, he admitted the work was not satisfactory as there were large gaps in his cuts, which he filled with caulk. The caulking turned black. After a year or promises to replace the steps, order and supply all materials required he never showed up with the primary excuse that he was so busy. For over a year, there was one excuse after another as to why he could not rebuild the steps. Finally, I filed a small claims case in Macedon Town Court. He did now show up for the hearing on 9-21-21, although there was proof he received the notice to appear. The magistrate, upon reviewing the photographs, text messages, and invoices of additional materials which I had to purchase because he mis-cut or ordered improperly—he commented that my claim should be for MORE than the $1,500. This was the lowest bid I received for the completion of the work, even though I agreed to reusing some of the pieces which he had damaged. He received a copy of the judgment from the Macedon Court, yet failed to respond. The total judgment was for $1,515, which has subsequently been filed with the Lyons Town Court to appear on his record of an outstanding lien. I would definitely not recommend Tim Christmas as he has displayed lack of integrity, truthfulness, and conscience. We believed in him, wanted to help his new business get started, and he betrayed our trust completely. Not only does he owe me $1,515 but he also has an outstanding invoice from my son,
