I located an apartment they manage and submitted an application with associated $20 fee. I received a text message from an unknown number asking questions unrelated to anything in my background or financial history. I replied with questions to verify the sender because in the defense industry we have to protect against phishing attacks. No one replied within a reasonable amount of time so I reported the # to the FTC as a spam caller and texted the number that I had blocked the number and and reported it to the FTC. I received a call from the management company and voicemail asking why I had done this. I explained that there were discrepancies with the questions, no reply when I responded and no warning or notice that I would be receiving any such text. She was very condescending. She told me that that was the only way for them to communicate with me and that I could not proceed unless I resolved this. After all my attempts to unblock the number, I could not. Even though they could call and email my personal email address they insisted I could not proceed. I asked if they could add an additional number to the process in order to verify me and proceed and I received no reply. She never once offered any type of work around or resolution. I became disinterested in the original property and found another property they managed. After having dealt with this person before I knew they wouldn't budge so I submitted another application with another $20 fee. Interestingly enough, I was able to add 2 phone #s in my profile for contact, the same thing I specifically requested the first go around. I was contacted by the same woman and she proceeded to ask a few more unrelated questions because she was misreading my background data. I cleared up those concerns and she asked me a few more financial questions and was then cleared. She vaguely explained the process. She was confusing. I told her I felt she was condescending and rude. She told me I was denied because of my behavior.Business response

Response taken by phone: Application fees are non refundable. This is stated in all of our paperwork. He had submitted 2 applications and we did refund one as a courtesy.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The woman I dealt with was very rude and condescending. I called her on it and she cancelled everything. Had it been my fault I would not be submitting a complaint, but she had no justification in my opinion.
