Communication is key. Alex had originally told me that my job would take a week. It was scheduled to start in Early April. We had agreed upon a price of $6400 to remove old flooring and replace with LVT that I had purchased. He had a team and they would be able to move quickly. I knew it was a large undertaking from other estimates I had. He showed up himself the first three days, then brought another worker the last two days. It ended up taking over six weeks to finish. He used a nail gun to affix the stair caps, which quickly came undone. Manufacturer suggested the stair caps be glued down. He “repaired” them and said he glued them all down, as well as nailing them again. Within three weeks I again had two stair caps completely off. I have been attempting to get him to come fix them and a few other issues that aren’t done very well. This has been going on since mid June. He doesn’t respond for days or in some cases weeks. I think he has all the potential in the world and I am happy with 90% of the work. There are some areas that are coming up as well. Last week I finally got ahold of him, let him know I wouldn’t be leaving a favorable review, and his response was to tell me I chose the wrong stair caps( I didn’t, I used the ones made by the manufacturer of my flooring) and also threatened me by saying he would claim my whole house was covered in dog urine and feces and claimed my dog attacked his worker. I will admit I had one room that did have more than its share of pet stains on the carpet. He never mentioned that my dog attacked in the time he was working at my house. Again he stated he would have a crew come and it would take a week. He brought a second worker a total of three times. His texts to me stated that his workers wouldn’t come there because of the supposed urine. This is untrue, as he didn’t even start on that area of the house until the second week. I have text messages with dates supporting all this as well as pictures of the stair caps.
