They did not return my numerous calls regarding their lifetime warranty! Insulation in attic falls down when we open hatch ! Another company doing ac work told us they should have put a brace or guard around insulation!Business response
09/27/2022
We have spoken to this customer and informed that insulation blown in lose can move and we do everything possible to stop it but it is not part of any warranty. This job was done in November of 2011 and up until 2021 we never heard from them, we asked twice was any work done up there since and was told no. The complaint states the there HVAC goes who were up there told them we should have blocked, but before there were there there was no problem. It is clear to us that the A/C guys moved the insulation so they should be called back to repair it. This is a issue that has nothing to do with our company.
Thanks,

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
First of all no HVAC work was ever done! They just looked up through hatch! Insulation has been falling on our heads since they installed it! We thought it would subside in time! Yes it was 2011 that it was installed! We do not go up there often and I called to ask about lifetime warranty they gave us!
I have all the paperwork if you need it forwarded! I never got any response except Well get back to you next week and that was in June! They never did!!! Even after more calls were made, they never responded at all! No explanation, no consideration, no information! We are seniors and needed some help or at the very least information on what we do to alleviate this problem! Its ridiculous to have insulation fall down whenever we need to go up to attic!!!
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,

**** preformed the insulation work but sub par. In fact, **** even admitted that he shouldn't have passed inspection. But the biggest problems are:1- he refuses to issue a payment receipt. I paid in cash 2-i paid an extra $200 for a worker to fasten my subfloor down with fasteners that i provided. It was agreed upon and reiterated that they must be placed every 6-8". That is the job i paid for. This was not preformed. **** promised several times over next couple of months to come and perform the job and still hasnt. I told him that my carpet will be installed april 15th,2022 so it must be done by then. **** agreed. April 13th, ***** at 1:08pm **** calls and tells me that he has 2 problems with fastening my floor by Friday(the carpet day). 1- he's too busy(ive been waiting months for him to finish my job)2- he said "i was doing you a favor only charging you $200"However, the job was never preformed. His employee began, stayed about 30 min and left. I asked **** to return my $200 so i could pay someone else. **** agreed to return $200 "tomorrow" , April 14th. April 16th **** sends a text message as shown refusing to repay the $200. He offers me $100 and his term was "final offer". I dont normally just give people $200 to not do a job.Business response

Good Afternoon,
We had a contract to Insulate a new dormer that was fully done and pass inspection. At some point the customer asked us to s**** down his sub floor of over a 1000SF dormer, as trying to be nice we agreed. A few weeks after is was done he said we didn't put enough screws in the floor, he then told me he needed double the amount that was put in. I talk to me ******* who informed me he spent 4 hours doing it the first time and he never said he close he wanted the screws (please keep in we are an insulation company we are not carpenters). Once the customer started theatening me and my company , I turned this over to an attorney as he says he was going to trash my company. My offer of returning $100 still is good and we think is more then fair and that is where we stand. I will wait for your response.
Regards,

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved bec Here]The first attachment is one of the 10lb bucket of screws that I provided. I provided three 10lb buckets, as was estimated by the owner. It is unthinkable that a subfloor can be screwed down that is over **** square ft, by the owners own admission, with only half of a 10lb bucket. That doesn't even make sense. The worker hardly used half the bucket. The second attachment is a screen shot of the industry standard for s**** distance when s******* down a subfloor, 6-8". The 3rd attachment is a screenshot of the date that I took the floor photos, before I corrected the incomplete job. The 4th attachment is a picture of my hand, which has EXACTLY an 8" length from thumb to pinky when spread, and also depicts the distance between screws. The screws were at BEST 16" apart. The response states that they "took the job to be nice", but never completed. In fact, I was going to offer the job to a local friend, but the owner insisted that he will do it and to "just give him the $200" so that he can "keep his guys working". In my opinion, taking a job without finishing it is NOT "NICE". Contrary to what the owner responded, we did in fact discuss the distance of screws apart, in fact I even went upstairs to see if the worker was using screws every 6-8". The worker directed me to look at one particular board that had screws every 8" for HALF of it(4'x4'). I believe now that this was a ploy to convince me that the work was being done to satisfactory. The reply stated that "we aren't Carpenters". To that admission, why did the owner push me to let him do it?
I have plenty more photos, video and phone recordings for reference. However the system will only allow me to upload 4 attachments. For reference, New York is a "one party state" for recording phone calls.
Also, as another note, the owner refuses to provide a receipt. This is concerning. The owner literally said to me in person, "cash is better, I claim enough with the ***** I assume that is why he WILL NOT provide a receipt. At one point I told the owner that if he does not provide the receipt and refund to my house, that I will come to his shop to get it. THIS WAS NOT A THREAT. Yes, foul language was used by both parties. We are ADULTS. It happens.
Lastly, I did not understand some of the owners replies. There were too many typos and poor Grammar. This reflects the companies Professionalism, in my opinion.
Thank you for you time and consideration.
Sincerely,
****
