We had hired this company almost a year ago to build a portico. The portico came out beautiful, BUT they had damaged a corner of one of our slate steps and broke it. After numerous promises to show up and repair the step last year and cancelling appointments, they then announced that it was too cold to repair the step and to wait until this year. This year we have had more numerous broken appointments to come and fix the stone, with still no success. We have been very patient trying to get them to fix this step now almost a year later before it gets "too cold to fix" with promises such as, we will come this week to fix it. Three weeks pass with no answer or never showing up. Then again we are told they would show up again this week with no answers of days or times they will be here after many tries to get a time for someone to be home for this. I can't understand after we have been extremely patient that almost a year later this company can not seem to find any time to fix something they had damaged while doing a job at our home.Business response

We went back to the house a few times . We went last year and repaired it but the corner that broke is smaller than an inch so very tiny and tough to sculpt such a small piece and have the customer ok it. On this 1st attempt the corner dried without a sharp enough corner that was satisfactory with customer. We than told her it is now to cold and we will try in the summer and not to worry that no matter what we will find time eventually and take care of it once we find someone and a product that can work. We finally were able to find someone who felt confident they could fix the tiny corner and this was now summer time and extremally tough to try to get him to come out for such a small fix. We did get over to the house as I promised before end of summer and as you can see in pics he sculpted the corner prefect. Client was told we will return to find a paint or a product to make the material we used to sculpt corner to blend in with natural stone. Contacted client on this past Monday and said the repair person will be out before end of this week. Today or tomorrow we had plans to go to house and use a product that we think *** blend stone in. At my surprise I received this complaint. Not exactly sure why when we did a huge amount of work at the house and customer says in complaint that we did excellent work and still felt it to share that we took so long to fix something that is so small and at the same time difficult to fix perfect. We have not ignored and not tried to fix this corner nor have we ever not gotten back to the customer. Out of 30 years of being a business owner of many different companied this is my 1st complaint I ever received. This compliant gave customer some sort of satisfaction I guess to say that we broke something and took to long for us to fix I guess . Every customer that i have every had in all my businesses as well as this one can not say I have not tried to rectify and problem or issue to make them happy no matter how long it will take or whatever I needed to do. This is something I hold as my highest value to appreciate the opportunity a customer gives me and I will always do what it takes to solve any problem. I do apologize that the customer apparently is not 100% happy at the moment she wrote this compliant but weather this complaint was written or not its not gonna effect me from making sure she is happy,Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:[Your Answer Here]
Yep, the work done was great and yes, something was damaged in the process. I can't figure out how someone can build an entire portico, yet as per the business owner, this "tiny" and miniscule corner broken off a slate step is STILL not finished a year later. We were told the stone repair person would come back last Friday and we are still waiting for him to finish the repair. The photos the company attached were taken within the last 2 weeks, this after waiting since last year to have someone come at all. We feel that a years time is definitely NOT being impatient and is in fact being quite generous for damage that happened while they did the job. What would be the "normal" time frame for someone to fix a teeny tiny corner (according to the company) to repair this?? Two years, three years?? All the while we've been promised that someone would come down day after day with nobody showing up. I really hate that this has come down to filing this complaint, as I know the company owner has been dealing with other things, but everyone has a limit and this is where it ended for us.

In reference to complaint ID ********, I have to give *** from this company much kudos for coming down and making our step look perfect!! Thank you so much for matching color and working out the broken corner to where it didn't look damaged at all. Many prayers go to the owner **** who amidst the issues he was dealing with at home, helped to make this happen as well. Thank you again!!
Sincerely,
