    On October 11, 2022, I received a shipment which was to contain 40 live Angel Fish. 5 fish were dead on arrival and I reported this. The business owner, Lee G***** said that he shipped 45 fish in case any died, so I still received 40 fish. I followed exact instructions for acclimating fish, and I am very experienced with fish, having raised and bred fish for over 40 years. The fish continued to die at a rate of 1 or 2 per day, until I eventually ended up with only 10 live fish. I was feeding them a sample of food that G***** Lee provided. I had purchased a different food from him, but decided to use the provided sample first. Once I ran out of the sample food, I noticed that I was not losing any more fish. I emailed G***** Lee about this, suggesting that the reason they were dying may have been the food. I previously thought that he had just sent me sickly fish, and could not figure it out, since my water parameters were perfect. G***** Lee did not respond further and offered no compensation. I said a refund of $112.68 would be fair, out of the $168 I originally paid for the fish. I just wanted to pay for the food, the remaining 10 fish, and a portion of the shipping. My last email to G***** Lee was Dec 27, 2022 and I received no response. My credit card company did not help me with my request for a refund.

    I ordered three angelfish from angelmania a few weeks ago. The order contained a request for specific types of angelfish and sizes between a quarter to a half dollar. However, I did not receive what I ordered. Instead, I received seven very small angelfish from angelmania that were the size of a penny or smaller. Approximately half of the angelfish had pure white bodies with black tails and fins, and the other half were all black. None of the angelfish that I received from angelmania look anything like the photos of the angelfish that I thought I ordered from angelmania as shown in photos on their website. I waited a few weeks to see if the angelfish that I received from angelmania would change color, but they did not. Perhaps angelmania thought that I would be satisfied with receiving more angelfish than I ordered regardless of their color, but I am not, and instead, I feel very disappointed. Angelmania could have informed me that the angelfish that I ordered from their store were not available prior to sending me a shipment of angelfish, but they did not. Instead, it appears that angelmania just sent me a random handful of baby angelfish that were currently available in their store. I sent Lee G***** an email with photos of the angelfish that I ordered as they appear on angelmania’s website and photos of the angelfish that I received. Lee G*****’s response to my second email was as follows: “They look pretty close to me. If you don't want them, ship them back and I'll refund the order.” I found Lee G*****’s poor customer service practices, bad attitude, false advertising on his website, and unwillingness to fulfill my original order to be infuriating. Moreover, as a private citizen I am not equipped to ship live tropical fish anywhere, and I found Lee G*****’s conditional refund offer to be unacceptable. I recommend that you buy angelfish from a more reputable tropical fish store that is committed to providing excellent and honest customer service.
