Tom was supposed to install all cabinetry (handles). He did not. He was supposed to install or separate wiring to/from the microwave. He did not. He was supposed to return after sink was installed to connect sink to pipes, etc. He did not. He left paneling loose under the sink cabinet and did not seal it nor repair it. In texts he claimed he did other work which he did not. He eliminated all texts referring to his license and insurance (pix) so I don't know if he actually had a license or insurance at the time of install. I want proof.

So in addressing the Customer's Statement of the Problem; Cabinet Handles - I installed all the handles she had.  She used the old ones off of her old cabinets and she was short 1.  I drilled the holes for the one missing and she said when she found another handle to match the others, she would put it on herself.  Otherwise all handles that were there for me to install were installed. Wiring - The wiring was done in the basement to separate the microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher.  They were all on the same line.  By separating the lines she no longer had to worry about over loading the circuit. I had her come to the kitchen with all 3 appliances running to show her it wouldn't trip the circuit anymore.  She was very happy she could run everything and didn't have to worry about tripping the breaker. The panel loose under the sink was a cut out for the plumbing.  I told her we had to do that and she had no problem with that.  I could have avoided that by cutting the pipes in the basement and ran them up through the bottom of the sink base but would have had to charge extra.  She wanted to save money any way she could so we went with cutting out the panel.  The piece that she said was not sealed wasn't meant to be.  It was left over and just placed there. As far as my License and Insurance documents, I had texted them to her and will send pictures of all texts and photos in a follow-up email to this letter.  You will clearly see that I did text over my documents she had requested. I couldn't go back and work for her.  She kept accusing me of stealing her things (ear muffs, a plain T Square).  She also said there are probably more of her things that I stole in my van.  Never in all my years has anyone ever accused me of stealing - let alone a customer.  She still owed me $200 to do the drains and waterlines after the countertop was installed so the bill was not paid in full when I stopped working for her.  She was however paid in full for the work I had already completed. I tried to please her as my customer by doing extra for her at no charge. I took off her front door to fit the lazy susan in.  The guys who measured her kitchen didn't measure the doorway correctly to fit the lazy susan.  In order to make it fit through the door I had to take the door off the lazy susan and shelves out to fit through the door frame. I took tile off the walls/backsplash so they weren't underneath the new cabinets. I cut the bottom of the sink base and the cabinet next to it for a heating vent. I paid for the register cover for the heating vent and did not charge her. I put in a new piece of tile that was missing under the front of the lazy susan and grouted it. I hooked up a temporary sink, plumbing for her until the counter top was put in. Ordinarily I would have charged extra for the work that was not included in the contract but I did not.  I have a copy of the contract that she initialed saying that there was a $200 balance for the sink install when I came back (after the counter was installed).  I will forward that picture as well. There is nothing that needs to be refunded to her since she did not pay the contract in full.  All work that I completed (and then some) has been paid for.  I cannot work for someone who is constantly accusing me of stealing. Please contact me if you need more information. Thank you! Tom B***

      Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. BBB has received the following from the customer regarding amount requested from business: The quote for the cupboard removal/ install. $50/hr, $250 total. The quote for the electrical is $250 total. The cabinets and install hardware: W1536 $266.85. CW2436R $459.90. INSTALL SCREWS $13.50. BTK8 (2) $41.40. HINGE RES CLIPS $26.10. Total refund requested = $1,307.75. Regards, ***** *** ******** I did mention the gouge on the cupboard. It was in the text. He probably erased his. He agreed to come back to finish the sink which he did not do, breaking the contract. He did not show me anything related to the electrical, or he would have pictures to show what he did. He was also supposed to put the handle on which again he did NOT return to do. I want resolution.

BBB spoke to Tom at the business and the following was relayed: The cabinets were never mentioned in the original complaint and any issues have to be dealt with from where she purchased them; it is not anything that we did. The company that she purchased them from is a good company and will send someone out to repair if needed. The handles were taken out of old cabinets and she was missing one handle, which is not my fault either. The handles that were provided were installed. The electrical is done. If the customer goes downstairs she can see there is an outlet where the wires were run to and from there that box goes to the main box. The customer was shown that everything works without tripping the breaker and was happy at the time. The customer signed off on the kitchen. The $200 for the sink was left for the customer to use to have someone else take care of. See attached.
