On February 14th, 2023, I signed an agreement for 6 months in which Marathon Energy was going to lower my electricity supply charge which was variable to a fix rate of ***** cents per kwh and the broker named ******* which is the person who helped me, told me that after I signed the contract, he was going to provide with the credits on the prior bill. I believed on him so I signed the contract but it has been a month and I didnt get a credit and also I received the next bill from Conedison and the fixed price wasn't aplied yet either.I spoke to one of the representatives from Marathon Energy and explained what happened but they said there's no way to give me credit so I asked them to cancel the agreement as they lied to me and now they say I need to pay a penalty in order to cancel the agreement.I told them I wanted to listen to the recording as I am sure ******* told me I will get the credits for the prior bill and the upcoming bill was going to be the fixed rate but they refused it. The overcharged amount is $2,003.10 in the last 3 months.I have included the last 3 bills for your records. Please, help me not getting overcharged.Thank you.*******************

*********************** the owner at Marathon Energy Corporation received a HEAP check from public assistance in the amount of $891.00 dollars to give me home heating oil from his company. Instead he tried to over charge me for the oil because he already had the check and he told me he can charge how ever much he wants to, I told him he is not going to keep the check, since he wants to over charge me and he should return it to me and I can return it to Public Assistance and get another oil company go give me oil once the check is received. *********************** was very disrespectful to me on the phone and insisted he isn't giving me anything and has yet to return the check to me or public assistance. He is trying to make sure I never get this assistance for oil. The check was cashed on 12/9/2022 according to public assistance, therefore, he does have the money and is not giving me any oil, nor is he returning the check. I need oil to heat up my home and this disgusting and disrespectful human being is holding on to the money. This is disgraceful and inhumane, I am freezing in my home and this *********************** person is taking advantage of this situation

Customers version of events is false. Customer is a HEAP beneficiary and receives funds from public assistance. After Marathon received funds from **************, Customer contacted ********************** demanding that Marathon deliver a minimal amount of gallons to her home, and then issue any remaining funds directly to the Customers name.Customer was advised that sending remaining funds directly to the customer was strictly prohibited by HEAP and that Marathon would not do this under any circumstances. Marathon offered to deliver oil for the full value of received funds to Customers home but Customer refused. ********************** then contacted the state *********** and we were directed to refund the money directly to HEAP,which is what we did. Marathon considers this case closed.

On October 15th, 2020, I attempted to contract Marathon Energy to be my energy supplier starting on November 1st, 2020. However, my electric company, *****, and Marathon Energy were not able to setup a successful connection. I was contacted by Marathon Energy to pay an Early Termination Fee (***) of $31.53 due to this incident. A Collections Associate of Marathon Energy named *************************** informed me of this charge on November 17th, 2021. Their terms and agreements state that the *** will be implemented if the customer terminates the agreement or if ********************** terminates the agreement under certain circumstances. The first issue is that I was never a customer due to the failed connection. I did not terminate the agreement. *************************** informed me that since ***** denied the connection, it was my responsibility to pay this ***. The terms and agreement do not mention any payment be made if a failed connection occurs or if the utility (*****) rejects the service. The fee is not viable under the terms and agreement and should not be paid by me or any other customers in a similar situation. I do not see how I am responsible for the broken processes of either ***** or Marathon Energy.
