In the spring of 2022, March or April, I paid ProIsle Publishing Company $1,800, as required by our agreement to cover publishing and marketing costs for my book. Also, per our agreement, I mailed an edited manuscript to the company in September 2022. This company has failed to comply with the agreement. I've made multiple attempts to reach someone by phone, calling twice monthly since September of 2022. Each time, I left a voice message, but I never received a return call. In December 2022, I mailed a certified letter to the company and received a return receipt confirmation signed by ************** of today, I still haven't received any response from this publishing company. I am requesting a refund of the $1,800 paid for the publishing and marketing fee.Initial Complaint

My contract with Proisle Publishing was $1**** to publish, market, and do final edit of my manuscript, "******'s Secret." Initially I was assigned **** to be my Rep. ****** a few months, **** was promoted and I no longer had access to him. At that point my Rep became ****** and her assistant, *****. ****** was very conscientious and phoned me often, even when she was ill and in the hospital.. Unfortunately,, ****** passed away and that left my only contact, *****. However, apparently ***** left the company and I was never notified of that fact.I was allowed to make payments and, once I'd finished paying off the $1****, the manuscript was sent to *****'s email address, on September 8, 2022. When I didn't get a response back, another email was sent on September 17, 2022 asking if the edited manuscript had been received. No response! Since then I have called twice a month through the end of this April of 2023.. With each call, I could only leave a message as no one was answering the phone. No response!The first week of December, 2022, I sent a registered letter in hopes of reaching a live person. On December 20th, 2022, I received the receipt that is was received and signed by a ****, on 12/12/22 (the last name was not legible). Unfortunately, I never received a reply to my inquiry. On January 17, 2023, I received a phone call from ***** wanting to market my previous book "*************************,," which was published elsewhere. He knew nothing of my situation and promised to forward my complaint to the right supervisor. I've heard nothing to date.Proisle Publishing took my $1 **** to publish and market my book "******'s Secret" and they have done neither. At this point I no longer want to do business with them and I just want my money back!Initial Complaint

On Friday, August 5, 2022, I paid Pro Isle Publishing a $300 down payment for a republishing of my book **************************** of ****** Through a Lifetime of Abuse. Then I also made payments on this book. Then I published my Poem book with them and paid them monthly payments. These are included in the files I uploaded to you. Since then I have never received any royalty and have not heard from this company either. I paid them $1500 for a website and they were supposed to set up a Paypal and Amazon on this website so I could recoup any royalties. I have not received any royalties and ProIsle claims they have no control over Amazon. My marketing manager is **************. Please see the documentation of several receipts that I have uploaded to show what I have paid to them. Since I am not receiving any royalties and I am always asked to invest more money for things such as an Interview which is another &**** which I refused. I want to recoup either some or all of the money I have invested. To make up for the pain and time it has been trying to do business with ProIsle.Customer response

I am an Author of 2 books. Proisle called me and what attracted me to their company was that they said " they offer Bookstore Placement Campaign in major bookstores they partnered with and their authors would get 100% royalities through KDP service." Asked her what does your company get out of this? She was vague, not really responding." From beginning, they asked for money. I had to pay for bookstore placement and chose 3 stores to pay for my books to be put in. Paid $1,800 for my first book and $800 for my 2nd book. Paid for Kindle version also. Decided to re-publish my books with them. Ist book was done ok but had problems with 2nd book. They put my 1st book in their online bookstore backwards, not able to see title of my book so I would not get sales. I asked for them to correct this but they never did. In no way, did I allow them to change my text inside my books as kept it the same. Never gave approval for 2nd book as still had minor corrections. Did not like the white paper used as dull for my 2nd book. Was told I had to pay again to re-publish 2nd book. Told them, "no, I don't have the money to re-do this book again." Told them to remove my 2nd book. Next day, saw where they removed my first book from their online site. (Earlier, she was vague when asked her the names of Physical bookstores my books would be put in & she NEVER answered my question.) Didn't ask them to take down my first book, as paid for it to be placed in stores, but glad they did. I am out of a total of $6000.00 & sent email to the lady requesting refund of above and may have to involve legal counsel. My books were never put into physical bookstores. *****, as lied about physical bookstore placement since as never told me names of bookstores "she claimed they partnered with." Want a refund of my money back, $6000. Told her by email, seeking legal counsel if they don't refund my money back to me. They sent me receipts of payment by ********* kept them. I was contacted in February 2021 by ********************* a Senior Sales Manager for ProIsle Publishing Services, LLC c: ************. He was selling a Republishing Package and Book Store Placement Program. I was told that my book would republished and placed in 8 eight different bookstores across the country. **** sold me on the package and made lots of promises. The cost was over $1800 and I paid all but $500 until the edit was produced. In January I was sent a statement of over $100 in book sales Royalties that were due me once I paid the remaining $500 on my account. May 25, 2022 ********************* sent an email "I hope this email finds you well. I like to inform you that we will going to cancel all your bookstore placement once you cannot settle the remaining balance with in this month. Kindly give **** a call to settle your pending balance so we can move forward and have your royalties sent to you." I immediately called him and worked out to pay in July. On July 15, 2022 I made the final $500 payment and asked **** to send me the royalties that were due me and also send me a listing of the bookstores where my book was placed. Since 7/15/22 I have not heard one word from **** or *************** who also helped me with my republishing. I have called and left numerous messages to this point, even today. Also, I have checked on my books availability online and it's saying in some cases that the book, "Planet Hope ****** Humanity" isn't available. WHAT???? Not happy here.This isn't what I have paid for and now they have my money and my book. AND Not corresponding with me in any way, I am very concerned!! I have called over 100 times since leaving messages. Including today!. There are more services they owe me...Please help me with this problem and instruct this representative, ********************* to contact me and satisfy the Services and Bookstore addresses as I requested. Thank you for helping me. I wish only to have them complete their promised services.God bless YOU!
