At the end of April 2022 I bought a 2016 ********* ********* ****** with fewer than 50K miles on it. The used car manager was very pushy to complete the transaction quickly, nominally so that the sale could be completed in the month of April. We completed the purchase and I took ownership of the vehicle. On 7/19 of 2022 the check engine light came on. After diagnosing the problem it has been determined that the vehicle needs a new transmission. The dealer is refusing to help in any way saying "we don't choose when they break down". While they are legally not required to do anything, any business that can sell something for $43K and be completely okay with the person who purchased it having to make a $6100 (their quote) repair when that thing broke less than 90 days later clearly does not care about their customers or stand behind their products and it is my belief that the pressure on the part of the manager was a result of the dealership knowing that the transmission would fail and wanting it to be someone else's problem. Instead of help I got flippant, rude comments and dismissal.Initial Complaint

Hello, I bought this car a year and a half ago I was told it passed their inspection and was in great condition. I went to get new tires and breaks and get the car inspected at ***** **** in on commercial drive. They told me the frame was so rotted out they would feel sorry even doing work on the vehicle because it’s so unsafe. I asked if this could have happened within that time from and was told no this car never should have been allowed off the lot. I took it to a local me machanic who stated the same thing. I went to rectify the situation and they were only willing to pay me $2000 as a trade in, I’m unsure if I feel safe doing business with them after the last saw. The manager stated it was my fault because he doesn’t know how many times I washed my car and it passed their inspection. Which leads me to believe it illegally passed inspection not to mention that rude comment was not needed I obviously wash my vehicle I live in New York where it’s a snowy mess. The manager then informed me if I refuse to buy another vehicle from them he will not composite me in any way this suv should never have been sold. When I left upset and crying they called to offer me $3000 if I buy a car again from them. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help me. I bought this car with good faith and they sold me a breaking car I paid $7000 straight forward for a 2009 ******* ***** ** and I feel they are taking advantage of the situation.
