I bought a car from them a year ago and all the lights came on in the car and it was acting very strange and doing things that were scary while driving. I took the car in to have it looked at but had already been there 3 times in the last month. I talked to the manager and he told me that we may be able to get into a newer car with less miles for the same price we were paying or Close to it at least. He came back and the estimate was 200 dollars more for the same exact vehicle we had already same year and model. I felt like a fool while they stood in a glass room and laughed and looked at their cell phones.

Today I was at the service department of the LEADCAR dealership noted above ****** *** ****** **** ******* ******* ***** ** *****). I had arranged an appointment to have a 'check engine' light diagnosed. During the initial discussion with the service representative, a discussion that occurred in their waiting room, I agreed to have an oil change, tire air leak repaired, and a low beam bulb replaced, in addition to having the 'check engine' light diagnosed. I was never told about a fee for the diagnosis of the ‘check engine' light, something that was done free and within a minute after having stopped at a local mechanic shop for a second opinion, which amounted to $159.00 (shown under ‘#1’ on attached invoice). And I was charged another $47.70 for a multi-point inspection which I never authorized. Shown under #4 of the attached invoices. While checking out, I’d say the attitude of all staff at the counter was less than friendly. I’d like a refund of those charges. Charges totaling $206.70.

BBB spoke with the business and the following was relayed: I sent him a check for $206.11 as soon as I got the letter from BBB.  I believe that this is now resolved.

I bought a car from leadcar Honda of yorkville the night of 9/7/22. The morning of 9/8/22 I was going over the vehicle with my coworkers and they pointed out the rear end damage that I was not made aware of by the dealership. Knowing the day after the damages I went to the general manager don r****** and said that I wanted to use my 2 day contract cancellation option and he refused me my right! I took it to them that day they said it was a seal in the headlight that was bad and that they replaced it but I water tested it and it still leaked. I took it back to them the same day and they kept it for a week. They are a terrible dealership with snakes for employees and have caused me a great deal of stress and financial loss. I would like my truck back and to walk away but they have refused my right that I signed in the contract multiple times!

False advertising and failure to sell a vehicle at the advertised full price without buying $1200 to $800 dollars of useless add on "dealer accessory charges" as a condition of receiving the advertised price. We tried to buy their car for their full asking price of $17,786 plus taxes and fees. I was told that I could not get the advertised price which was online offered as 'plus taxes and fees.' unless we purchased $1200 dollars of added dealer 'accessories' (paint, rust protection at $800 and a $400 tire warranty for what were brand new tires.) I said no deal and they took away the $400 but insisted on the $800 additional 'dealer accessory' charge for a paint 'shield' because obviously, ****** doesn't paint their cars well. But I was then informed by Brandon that ***** also does a "really bad job of painting their cars" And EVERY :Lead Car" Honda.... new or used can "only be sold with a 'paint and tire proterction package' without exception... He isn't a very smart person and confessed that the dealership forced him to buy all this extra stuff on the vehicle he bought from them. I left the dealer ship that I drove 2 hours to buy from with no ability to purchase the car at their asking list price online without their insisted extra accoessory charge. In a text exchange the next day I was told I could by the car at their advertised price without the $800 warranty accessory charge but I would have to buy their $3000 extended warranty. In another text with their internet department, the internet department insisted that I could have bought the car for the asking price plus taxes and fees only.

Here at LeadCar Honda Yorkville we pride ourselves in customer satisfaction. Every vehicle, product, and service sold is explained to the finest of details without withholding any information from our customers. As we see from the customer statement, He was in fact aware of the offered products & warranty options we have for the vehicle. It was the customer’s decision to make the purchase, and he chose not buy the vehicle.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  Their response actually admits their 'policy' of forcing add ons as a condition of the 'sale price' even though their advertising falsely claims just 'plus taxes and fees,' not plus mandatory dealer add-ons. The following day text from the saleperson said 'they were comfortable selliing the car at the advertised price only if I bought an additional $3000 warranty.' The dealership reply makes it sound like they were options when in fact they were requirements to get the sale price. Their advertising is a lie as part of a bait and switch approach.  Regards,  **** ******

BBB spoke to Don at business and the following was relayed: All new vehicles have nitro filled tires that include the tire warranty which is fully disclosed. This is 100% optional on pre-owned cars, as is the paint protection and extended warranty. There may have been some miscommunication between the salesperson and the customers. If they are still interested in the vehicle, have them call and ask for Don, the General Manager.

Purchased a vehicle from them on june 20th, 2022 for my 16 year old daughter. We traded in her honda that had too many issues to bother fixing. It was a cash deal. The salesman repeatedly wanted to sell nitrogen for the tires and a perma coat wax. My husband told him no over and over again. He refused one of the offers specifically because of this. He told the salesman he wanted the car as advertised for $17184. When my daughter and I went to pick up the vehicle that my husband made the deal on, they snuck in $1397 in charges for the nitrogen in the tires and the perma coat wax. They took advantage of me because I am a woman. They knew exactly what my husband wanted, but because it was 2 woman they swindled it in. Very shady on their part. When my husband called to get this resolved they kept telling him that those two things are standard on all their vehicles. Right in their contract they say you have the right to refuse any add ons. That money came from a 16 year old trying to do something and have something nice for herself and they take advantage of her.

Here at LeadCar Honda Yorkville we pride ourselves in customer satisfaction. Every vehicle, product, and service sold is explained to the finest of details without withholding any information from our customers. As the paperwork previously sent on ID# ******** indicates there is a signature on all documents related to the Permaplate & Nitrofill that was purchased with the vehicle. It is listed on the Bill of Sale, and there are individual contracts for both products signed by the customer.
