      Good morning,

After speaking with this client and after careful review of the medical record, we found the standard of care was met for this patient while in the care of Metropolitan.  We wish them well in the future.

Nothing good came out of any of the 3 visits I have had there. My last visit was the most devastating leaving me with tremendous anxiety after being forced to put my dog to sleep. I brought him is in with Laryngeal paralysis breathing issues. In hopes of getting him a stint or Tie back surgery. No surgeons on duty. On arrival I asked them to tell me what they are doing to him before anything is done and I asked if they would only just give him oxygen and if need be something to calm him. They ended up giving him 2 drugs one being Butorphanol which I now found out caused him to have increased BP and heart rate making him breath so fast and hard like he was Running a marathon. They had my dog in another room, I was being told he was getting worse, and starting to pant harder, not responding to the medication. Dr **** was telling me that most people make this the end point, wanting me to put him down. I asked to bring him to me to see if he would calm down, Dr **** told me everyone thinks bringing their dog to them will help calm them, it never does. They seemed very nervous doing so. Telling me he may go into cardiac arrest. They asked if I wanted CPR done on him. I asked why he was breathing so hard and panting. Dr **** told me he was breathing with shorter fast breaths to increase his oxygen in take. But his tongue was very pink. I was just so concerned of the state he was in and suffering. Dr **** kept telling me that this was the point where many people make it an end point. Couldn't see him in the distress any longer, after about 3 hrs I had to put him to sleep. I was told there was nothing else they can do. Only to find out there is a drug that could have reversed this reaction called Naloxone. If this keeps happening why do they keep using this drug and keep this Vet employed? The label state not recommended for elder dogs and have Hypothyroid . His records I found very vague. No medication or supplements noted. So Horrified and disgusted with the care.

We took our cat Gypsy to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital on March 15, come to find she had Rectal Prolaspe. She had surgery, paid a total of $928.94. She was doing fine up until April 11, 2023, when we rushed her back to the hospital for the same issue. She undergoes the same surgery, costing us a other $1553.37, which included x-rays this time. Once again, she was doing good until June 24. 2023, when the same issue happened and it was worse this time. So at this point we decided, to take her to a local ************* care to get her Euthanized another $ ******, as we didn't want to go back to Metropolitan for the stress they caused, not only our precious cat Gypsy, but the family. It is all about the money, no compassion at all. We want to be compensated, for what they put us and our cat through!! I don't recommend this place at all to anyone!!

The reviews about the price change and no acknowledgment before is accurate. They say one price and charge more after they are done. They care more about the money. Is also true. They take their time to get to your pet and over charge. Avoid this place as much as you can.

These people just took $465 from me after they took my dog in the back because he wasn't eating, they took my credit card and charged it. They said they ran all these tests that was never shown to me. It was all here say and then they came to me saying he's not going to make and it would cost $2000 to save him, but he did one hour later and I was so distraught about my dog I didn't realize they charged my card $465 to kill my dog that was going to die anyway. These people are praying on people's sympathy and robbing you blind.

I took my dog dyna with a prolapsed uterus which was bleeding. dyna was at this horrible place since 4am to 2pm and the vet did not give her anything for her pain, not try to control the bleeding, and wanted us to take her home and come back 3 weeks to have surgery done. i told them that dyna is bleeding way too much, and asked to have the surgery that day, but vet said no and to come back in 3 weeks. i decided to put dyna down due to her crying in pain, and the large amounts she was bleeding, and her uterus was completely out of her. if you love your fur baby do not bring them to metropolitan vet hospital because they do not care about their patients!!!!!!!! the only way i can leave this review is to rate with stars: this horrible place deserves zero stars!!!!!!

It was time for my cat to go and I understood that. Now Im totally haunted by what they did to him. Originally ************ was his vet and he was so wonderful and patient but then ************ left the practice. My cat took aggressiveness to the next level. He was a rescue and I made a commitment and for a long time he wanted me dead. At 4 years he started making weird noises. I didnt know if it was a burp or he was sick and then I realized he was trying to purr! He won over my heart!! Because of aggressiveness, he had to be gassed for an exam. I cant count the number of times I explained how dangerous my cat was AND tell them to not hurt him. Trying to keep everyone safe. I was treated like an over reactivate cat mom until... Lets just say there wasnt a single vet who wanted to see him twice. Then I started taking him to Metro where he was diagnosed with and assigned a specialist. Now back to recent times, my cat needed to be put down and Metro took him out of the room to gas him while I waited for them to bring him back for the final fatal injection. When they took him he was so calm and cute and curious. Then he was carried back to the room. Literally 17+ pounds that the vet could barely handle. There were tubes. His one eye was BULGING with the white 100% blood red. His other eye was half closed. His mouth open. A look of absolute terror on his face. They asphyxiated him. Theres no doubt. I was so close to him and yet couldnt help because I had no idea someone would over gas him. Im not even positive he was alive when she brought him to me. I cant get his Grotesque terrified face image out of my mind. Lately Ive been with loved ones during their final breath but my cats ending is the only one that is haunting me to the core.
