In March 2022 I hired T&T to take out concrete patio and replace with pavers and then do a small garden in back as well as front. Paid in full $6,150.38 on 5/8. I emailed that although I paid in full I was disappointed in gardening portion of job. Piles of rock were just dumped into garden area. Things we discussed were not even addressed such as visual border for between my yard and neighbors yard. Colors. Discussed moving a lilac bush in front. He claims the neighbor refused to let him move it but she talked with him and absolutely gave permission to move it. My entire gardens front and back were thrown together in a couple hours. I let him know. He did he could come remove some rock. I asked about the border we discussed and he stopped by one day and planted a shrub that is planted crooked. I’ll attach photos. I noticed one of the shrubs in back looked very ill. He said he had to give it some special fertilizer first before agreeing to replace. After a few weeks I sent another photo since not getting any better. Asked him numerous times to address crooked shrub.Hydrangeas in front shriveled to the ground every single day I told him these hydrangeas were not the kind that tolerated sun. He insisted they were. I sent photos several times of each day and then shriveling. He finally agreed something was wrong. He eventually replaced them with appropriate ones and said they were not labeled correctly when he got them. Also replaced I’ll shrub with even more I’ll shrub. I’m done. I want money refunded for gardens. Rock garden with no weed barrier. Weeds everywhere!Business response

Here at T&T Landscaping we strive to keep every customer happy unfortunately on this project we haven't been able to do many things right for *******.On April 9th and 10th we installed a paver patio for her obviously here in Ohio weather is tough in April so we did what we could and did the patio over the weekend. She was thrilled with the job and even left a google review after we finished. On the week of April 14th we came back out to remove old plants and install new. ******* came outside prior to planting as well as the neighbor (they share a bed that 2'x5') the neighbor has a lilac bush in this bed she just planted in the fall of 2021 that she expresed she didn't want moved I let ******* know that the neighbor asked us not to move the shub, she wasn't happy but i thought we came to an agreement that we would place her new shrubs in a way that would look good with the lilac. Once all the plants were installed ******* came outside and noticed all the much we were installing (as per plan) this plan was submitted to the HOA prior to starting to get an approval. ******* expressed how she doesnt want that much mulch; she wants lots of rock. so we raked all the mulch up besides a couple spots and told her we would be back with river rock another day. The day comes when we install the river rock I have a crew come out to install all the river rock. Once the rock was installed i asked ******* if i could use her hose to make sure we washed all the dirt off the rock (when you purchase this rock from a stone quarry it comes very dirty so I like to wash it off for my customers) After this we were complete with the project and sent the invoice.A few days go by and I get an email from ******* stating she paid the bill but is not happy with our service. I asked her how we can make it right, I don't want anyone to not love what we do. She said we installed to much rock and we didn't plant a privacy bush that we spoke about by her back fence, and she felt we rushed the job (just tossed rock in. My guys work fast, to install the rock we toss it in the beds by hand and get on our hands and knees to level it out around the plants. Mind you there were only 9 shrubs to plant and 6-8 small grasses with 3 people this does not take long.As far as the plant by the fence at the time she asked about planting something by the fence she said we can't plant somehting to big because a riding lawn mower has to be able to get by Per the HOA I told her there is nothing tall for privacy that a mower can fit around so we didn't plant anything. I told her I would send a crew the next day to remove rock and add more mulch and get something to plant there. We did exactly that.On June 15th ******* contacted me again stating her hydrangeas were wilting I asked her how much she was watering them as hydrangeas need a lot of water and it was in the 80's she claimed she was watering them. I told her I would stop by and take a look. She also sent me a photo of the Gold Mop Cypress we planted claiming it was sick. I stopped by took and look, the hydrangeas were wilting but nothing crazy and didn't feel very moist but I told her I would replace them but the cypress looked fine. I even took photos and sent them over to the nursery. They said the same thing: the plants are fine. The nursery gave me three hydrangeas and some fertilizer to put on the cypress to keep her happy. On June 22nd the plants were installed. On July 5th ******* texted me saying the cypress looks awful and there's weeds growing everywhere. She asked me why didn't we put weed barrier in "I thought landscapers did that without being asked" I explained to her that we do not install weed fabric that it doesn't stop weeds and it should not be used plants will not thrive with weed barrier it stop water and oxygen from getting to the roots, it has its uses but this isn't one of them. Nor was it discussed or requested during the estimate. I told ******* that the cypress grows that way; it's how the shrub looks. I asked her if she would like something different because another one is going to look the same, she said no she likes the shrub just replace it. On July 18th she asked why the shrub hasnt been replaced yet I told her we have been swamped i had 4 guys get covid and were behind we will get it by the end of the week. On july 24th i had a guy stop and replace the shrub with another one. Later that evening i get a text from ******* with a picture of the new shrub stating why hasn't this shrub been replaced. I explained that is the new shrub it was just replaced a few hours ago. She said the other shrub looked better this is not suitable and she will be calling the BBB. I told ***** if she is not happy and we keep going round and round I can refund the money for the plants, She has not responded since.Since we didn't not get a response from ***** nothing has been done, but according to this complaint she would like us to fix it or give her a refund. I will have our office issue a check to her for the cost of the crooked shrub and the "sick shrub" I will not be sending a crew out again to repair or replace anything. If anything else is needed from myself or our company by the BBB please reach out, my personal cell phone is ************. If more documentation is needed like text messages or emails between her and I can send those as well. Attached you will find the drawing of the front bet that was approved prior to starting the project.Thank youTed *********
