I started going to the Shaker office earlier this year and thought it was great at first. The receptionists were, and still are, excellent. However when I needed an extraction that required antibiotics before the procedure I was told to get clearance from my orthopedic Surgeon in writing. I did so but he inadvertently said penicillin, which I’m allergic to. Although he corrected this, they said the signature did not look the same as the first one. This is completely ridiculous! Then they wanted me to get a prescription from him for the SAME medication they had already prescribed that I already had. They basically refused to do the extraction because of the “fake” signature, which was a lie and because they wanted my surgeon to give me a prescription for the SAME medication they had already given me. This would have been my 5th time there for the same thing but they will not give me an appointment because they say they need my Surgeon to verify his signature. Not to mention that the two people I spoke with on the phone to try to schedule this 5th appointment were very rude. They kept talking over me as I tried to explain the situation - though I’m not speaking of the two who are at the actual shaker office. They were VERY nice and helpful. I’m assuming the two I spoke to today were schedulers.Review from Thea M

Ms. ******* At CDI, we prioritize the utmost care and confidentiality when handling patient information. To ensure the highest level of security, we utilize a premium software system to safeguard patient data in the cloud, that required internet connection to access it. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, such as the recent internet outage in the Ashtabula area, we were unable to access your information during your scheduled appointment yesterday, which forced us to cancel your appointment. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you in your 1st appointment with us. if you require any farther assistance, or wish to reschedule your appointment, please don't hesitate to contact us.Review from Irene P.

I went to the location on Lee Rd and was told I needed a dental implant, I was told it would be $800. I went in yesterday and was told it would be $2000.00. I paid the $2000 in full and when it was time to set an appointment I was told it would be $5000 instead. I do not understand why the amount keeps going up, I was told it was dependent on which group I was in but they did not explain what they meant by groups. I was unable to be put on a payment plan and was told I had to pay in full up front to be seen so I was unable to schedule an appointment after waiting for 2 months to be seen.Review from Angela S

I should never have to go to such lengths to get my money. Your institution has no right to my money for a service that was NEVER PROVIDED! I have my documentation from my insurance provider that states the approval of my care at location "Miami Valley Hospital." The Intent in restraining and misusing the monies I placed as a deposit for a service that was never provided is not only unethical it goes against the oath taken by physicians and should be considered a crime. The fact that you handled my care with disrespect ,disregard, and negligence is beyond what I could put in this complaint. My next step is to contact an Attorney for the neglect of my care and mishandling of my money. It shouldn't have taken the four weeks I waited for care that your office obviously cared nothing about but, it is absolutely unethical and unprofessional to not give me my money even though I called and physically went to the Dayton Office per the direction of your call center to no avail. I have been ignored and lied to. This has caused me great grience emotionally and physically. Not having care for two teeth that are broken have only worsened and made eating so painful and difficult. I don't know that I'll ever heal from the emotional anxiety and embarrassment it has caused and cost me. A patient generally approaches a doctor/hospital based on his/its reputation. Expectations of a patient are two-fold: doctors and hospitals are expected to provide medical treatment with all the knowledge and skill at their command and secondly they will not do anything to harm the patient in any manner either because of their negligence, carelessness, or reckless attitude of their staff. Thus, a patient's right to receive medical attention from doctors and hospitals is essentially a civil right. The relationship takes the shape of a contract to some extent because of informed consent, payment of fee, and performance of surgery/providing treatment, etc. while retaining essential elements of tort.Review from Tina L

I was seen at the Columbus, Ohio CDI location for a dental implant. It took 9 months for a dental implant. Dr. ****** would not provide follow up care after implanting the surgical post for my implant. I would come to office for scheduled appointment and Dr. ****** would decide not show up for his afternoon appointments. When he did show up he didn't even look in my mouth. When I requested to be seen by another dentist the denied my request but continued to bill my insurance for services not rendered. After I threaten to file a complaint with the Ohio Board of Dentistry, only did they finish my work. Now I am sever pain from poor dental care and horrified to go back because I believe they will only make matters worse.Review from Dionzha L

They did a partial root canal and fill in.. complained about pain but they said it would go away and to take ibuprofen. Still in pain and the fill in came out. Been trying to get an appointment for them to fix but no answer and no return call when leaving voicemail. Worse mistake I’ve made far as my dental experience. Inpatient, doesn’t listen to concerns, very busy office, routine cleaning is less than mediocre.Review from Jennifer H

I visit the Ashtabula location regularly. I went in for a routine cleaning which I was told I had a teeny tiny cavity that needed filled. I went in the next day for the filling. I was NOT numbed! The "doctor" told me the cavity was so small he could take care of it without having to use the Novocaine. He drilled. And it HURT! But we finished the appointment and I went on with my life. 6 months later and it's time for my next cleaning. I tell them that I am experiencing some pain in my tooth that was last worked on. I was told that I floss too hard and have micro abrasions on my gums and the pain is just from sensitivity. 6 months later I'm in for another cleaning with real bad pain this time. They tell me my filling was failing and they had to drill it all out and replace the filling (the filling that THEY performed!) So I had the filling fixed (this was in October 2022) he told me to be careful with it because next time he will have to do a root canal. Here we are December 2022 and my tooth is in so much pain! Seems to me that they saw the perfect opportunity to do a bigger job and they took it! They ruined my tooth! The root canal money will be going to a different dentist office. I will never pay CDI another penny! Wether it be out of my pocket or from my insurance. They need to be shut down! I wish I would have gotten my tiny cavity fixed somewhere that actually knows what they are doing. Now my tiny problem is turning into a huge problem! I will never go back! I feel as though they want to get as much office visits as they can. They don't care about patients. They care about how much money they can squeeze out of you! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!Review from Tasha M

Johnnie West The ongoing dental care issues at the Lee/Harvard location were horrible and never resolved. First visit September 22, 2021, last visit May 2022. Upper and lower teeth extracted, multiple infections. Once dentures were put in they were so uncomfortable, return follow up and another infection. Unable to wear dentures due to soreness of gums “swelling” told to keep dentures in so gums would get used to them. At least six additional visits regarding soreness and still the potential reason not addressed or revealed, just adjustments to dentures each visit. My last visit, I was told my insurance would not cover any future visits, going forward office visits would be out of pocket. As of today, I still can not wear the dentures, my bottom gums are swollen and very sore. I think this dentist office should have continued services until dentures fitted properly with no soreness or swelling. Very dissatisfied and have filed a complaint with my dental provider.
