On November 15, 2022, Maxx R*****, an employee at Chimney Guys Ohio came to my house to look at my fireplace. I wanted to get a gas fireplace insert installed. Maxx told me he could do the work and get a very nice insert that would look great. He quoted me a price of $1250.00. He also said I would need to pay half of that to get the job started. I wrote a check to Chimney Guys Ohio for $625.00 on November 15, 2022. The check was cashed on November 16, 2022. About three weeks later I called the company because I had not heard from them. I left a message that day and several times in the following weeks. I finally got a call from Joe T*******, the owner, on January 18, 2023. He said "Please do not leave a bad review, I was in the hospital and I will get your insert and parts ordered". That was the last time I heard from him. My son-in-law was able to get ahold of Joe recently and told him we want our money back. The check was to be delivered two weeks ago and I still have not received my refund.Initial Complaint

On 9/21/21, CG added a crown and caps to my chimney, tuck pointed, and sealed flashing where needed. My invoice clearly indicates a 5 year warranty against leaks. In November 2021 the chimney leaked into my garage and attic. I called the company numerous times and left messages over the course of 3 months. Never got a return call. Never received a message back. Nothing. December, 2022 had another chimney co look to address the leak and there are NINE (9) cracks in the crown that CG added to the chimney one year before along with several other cracks around the top of the chimney. Still calling and asking for a call back. No response whatsoever. I do not recommend this company for any repairs. They do not stand behind their work!
