I frequent this local farm and butcher, that advertises fresh locally farmed meats, fresh from farm. I have spent 1000s of dollars there over the years. I have for a couple years pre ordered fresh local turkeys in the past. They have been very well worth the price. This year, they pulled a "bait and switch" giving us a honeysuckle turkey at OVER double the price they could have been purchased at any ANY local retail store. They then concealed it in a box from the butcher shop taped it closed so customers were unaware it was a "commercially farmed" "pre brined" bird.. I was never told this was what they were doing, I had no informed consent to even decide whether I wanted a commercially farmed bird. Had I wanted a commercially farmed pre brined bird I would have simply went to walmart and bought one.

this is false accusations and miscommunication/ mis-understanding on both sides . We did not deliberatley intend to mislead or "BAIT / SWITCH" - were not in business to " bait/ switch"  or conceal anything from customers nor intend too. We do not operate that way . It wasn't clear Ms.******'s communication nor did ****** convey she wanted no brine or with brine.  Our supplier we paid $2.95 lb ..this was a high premium grade fresh turkey( not walmart grade). We offered her at the register that she didnt have to buy the tukrey and she replied ( yelling ) ......"just give me my damn bird !"  ****** was screaming and yelling in our store - customers were not happy with her actions and verbal abuse to all our employees ( we have witnesses . ) We tried to make it right in the store and it didn't please her. We went over and beyond and went to WHOLE FOODS and bought her TWO( $160 total in  fresh turkeys without brine ) and personally delivered it to her house at 7 pm 11/21/23  at night instead of eating dinner with our family to make her happy for the mis-understandings / miscommunications on both parties. We apologized but she still posted on BBB.  People need to shop corporate if that's how they want to treat people - were a small farm mom and pop business but we do strive to make customers happy. Happy Thanksgiving!

We took our cattle to McConnell Meats to be processed and packaged for our customers in October 2021. They took the beef to a processing facility who by their admission made a mistake and our beef was destroyed. We were told after the fact. We asked to be compensated in cash at the cost of the day of the beef which was just under $15,000. They have yet to be rectified in any way and the company will not return calls, emails, or even legal correspondence asking for a resolution. We did make local authorities aware of the situation, but they chose not to prosecute. During this process, we discovered that the facility that slaughtered our cattle, Hepler Meats, replaced the beef in October 2021. We have never been told this, never been offered our beef, nor did we have an option to inspect the cattle while alive, look at their diet, or inspect the carcasses. We do know that they replaced our beef with more weight. This has led to us losing our cattle start-up operation, a losing future business valued at over $250,000, and various relationships. We have sent a demand letter which has been ignored. I would like to resolve this issue with the beef and the cost of the beef, now valued at over $20,000. If we can not resolve this we will be forced to file suit.
