In April my A/C went out. While at my house on a home warranty call the Service tech tried to sell me a unit. I said that what I have a home warranty for. The tech said I can fill your unit I said fine. He said it was $150 a pound. I said my warranty pays for it all, he said only a half pound. Just got off the phone with my warranty company because I am sweating from no A/C and I am a disabled veteran. They informed me the next time someone comes to my house and does what he did to call them. I have unlimited Freon and they would have replaced my A/C… they tried pressure selling me and did get me for $300. I am really angry and think they are criminals and should loose their licenseBusiness response

We received a service request for *** ******* AC from a warranty company. Typically, when the work order is received, it lists everything that is covered under the customers current plan. If refrigerant is covered 100% by the warranty then it will be listed on the work order. In this situation, there was no indication that refrigerant was covered. This is the reason why we charged *** ******* for the refrigerant. My company does a lot of warranty work, and we frequently run into customers who feel the warranty covers everything. Fortunately, I can reference the work order to show what is covered and not covered. We have come to trust the information that is given to us on the work orders.
When we received notification of the initial message of the complaint, I called *** ******* to get to the bottom of this. After our conversation, I confirmed that his contract does include refrigerant. I called *** ******* back and set up a time to meet and drop of a check to reimburse him 100%. This was truly an honest mistake, and after talking to *** ******* I think he understands that there was no intent to be deceitful. I feel we have made good on our mistake, and hope he feels the same way.
