Dear Kristie Angel:
This is to respond to the complaint submitted to the BBB on April 9, 2022 by **** ********. I first received the complaint today, April 27, 2022 via regular mail. The allegations in the complaint are not true.
In the complaint, Mr. ******** states that I did nothing and I did not respond to his several and varied attempts to reach me. My last attempt to reach Mr. ******** was yesterday after I received a response from the lien holder. I forwarded the response to Mr. ******** but he has not responded.
Mr. ******** engaged me to negotiate a settlement with a party to waive a lien against the Mr. ********’s property. Mr. ******** paid me a retainer to be used at an hourly rate. I have had numerous phone conversations with Mr. ******** including an initial consultation all together, accounting for 70 minutes of billable time. I have received, read and responded appropriately to seven (7) emails from Mr. ********. I analyzed all of our correspondence to create a demand letter to send to the lien holder. After I emailed the demand letter to the lien holder, I had two conversations with the lien holder. On April 26, 2022, yesterday, I received a call from the lien holder asking if I received his response. I stated that I had not and that I was out of the office for a brief period of time earlier this month. He resent the response to me, and I immediately forwarded it to Mr. ******** and requested that he give me a call to discuss the lien holder’s response. He has not responded. Nevertheless, I will reach out to Mr. ******** by sending him another copy of the lien holder’s response and ask him to contact me for next steps.
Apparently, the lien holder sent the original response to me on the 11th of April which was during the period I was out of the office.
Finally, the modest retainer Mr. ******** paid has been exhausted. I would be happy to continue to work with you Mr. ******** if he chooses to do so.
I have no problem if you share my response with Mr. ********.
Please do not hesitate to follow up with me if needed.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I retained Mr. Thomas to resolve a lien. After speaking with another attorney that specializes in removing liens, it's obvious that Mr. Thomas does not have the skills necessary to resolve this issue. If he would have have told me that in our initial conversation, I would not have retained him.Regards,
**** ********
