I took my vehicle in to have the rear shocks replaced. Please keep in mind ***** acknowledges that he charges a premium due to the quality of their work and warranties. During the initial assessment, ***** told me he’d charge me 3,800 to replace the entire rear suspension with two tires. Now whether I needed the entire suspension replaced, at this point, I no longer trust *****, so I don’t know. During this time, he also tried pressuring me into replacing the entire suspension system (an additional 2800 worth of work) despite me telling him I’d rather not and to address my original concern only. Fast forward, I pay my 3,800 bill and take possession of my car. After a few days, I hear a metal clunking noise in the rear when I go over bumps. I call ***** and he asked me to bring my car back in. After a day or so ***** calls me and says that the noise is the right passenger side control arm bushing and it’s causing the control arm to have too much play which is causing it to hit metal on metal. In addition to telling me about the bushing, he again tried to pressure me into replacing all of the front suspension which again would have cost an additional 2,800. Following my gut because of what he was describing and what I was hearing/experiencing did not sound right, I decided to take my car to the dealer and pay for an inspection of Finn’s work. I do not mind paying a premium for good customer service. After the dealer inspected the vehicle, I was told that the knocking came from rear sway links that were loose from the original company that repaired my shocks. For safety reasons, the dealer did not want to touch it. After receiving this information from the dealership, I sent it to Jerry on 10/4/22 and returned my car to him. This time he acknowledged that someone had stripped the screw that attached the sway link. I expressed my dissatisfaction with having to pay another company to tell me what was wrong with the work I paid him 3,800 for.

On 2-02-22 ***** brought the car in for a flat tire repair.  We also preformed a digital vehicle inspection (DVI) at no charge.  This is when we found that both rear shocks were original and leaking fluid (see attached Inv# ****** and DVI).  ***** declined having the rear shocks replaced at this time.  On 7-29-22 ***** brought the car back in to have the shocks replaced (see Inv#******).  He also had recently noticed a lot of noise, including rattles, squeaks and a rotational humming noise.  He also complained of a vibration and the rear of the car seemed loose over bumps.  He had driven the car 6,907 miles since February 2022.  During our inspection we found that not only were the rear shocks still leaking but the rear stabilizer links, both rear tires have uneven wear and the drivers rear wheel bearing had failed.  We performed the needed repairs at this time.  On 8-24-22 we did have to replace a nut on the rear stabilizer link due to a manufacturing defect.  We did at no charge under warranty.  We would like to refund ***** for the Suspension inspection $73.30 and the rear stabilizer link replacement $248.83 at this time.  We feel this is fair since the other repairs we performed on 07-29-22 were properly diagnosed, performed and are still working properly at this time.

On or about May of 2022, I had my car towed by *** ****** ******** to Finn Tire and Automotive for restoration. Upon arrival of my vehicle (1996 ******** ******e) me and the tow truck gave them notice that the back spring gave in and there could be a rust issue. Upon Finn Tire and Automotive evaluation of my vehicle they failed to do a vehicle safety inspection requirements in Ohio to acknowledge that my vehicle was not safe due to rust issues but recommended that I needed to replace the car starter before they could go any further with their evaluation. Upon replacing the car starter in the amount of $1,219.10, I was told by Finn Tire and Automotive that my vehicle had rusted out in the back and could not be repaired which that should had been first thing they acknowledge . As stated before they acknowledged the vehicle had rust issues and the back spring did in fact push in to the surface of the vehicle by me and the tow serviceman when drop off to their shop that very same day.
