complaint: was scammed, this company for report came right after I was scammed originally and he promised he would never do such a thing; business info he put on the "contract" Precision Masonry and Concrete ###-###-#### ************** ** paid deposit $1200, tore yard up and never finished the job 6/30/22 ;Robert M******* has ********** ******** *** ******** ** ************** ** ***** Contract stated with a list of tasks that he was going to do listed on paper with his personal business info; $1000 first check (to him personally)(6/21/22) and "it would be done in 3 days" ; started the digging manually and only worked a few hours and bought a few 2 x 4's placed them and they were placed wrong. Then we did not see him and came back one part of another day; and then came back to ask us for another $200 personal check to buy the lumber to finish the work because he was broke and I asked what he bought and he said he had bills to pay. He was given another personal payment on 7/15, put a few boards together but he never did come back. One day his wife called and said he would be there that day but no call / no show. Next day he came and said he was in the hospital, we were called away on an emergency and he left when we did. Nobody in our neighborhood has seen him since, nor have we. Now he does not answer any calls and no work is done properly what little he did and we do not want him back around our home. He has breached our contract and we have hired another contractor to fix his mistakes and has to start all over for the ramps and materials used are worthless now. I want a refund of $700 for the lack of work that was done or done incorrectly. I already paid for $200 of that material which cannot be reused for my project. I think that his keeping $500 of the $1200 that he has already collected is more than fair for lying, making contractual promises, and doing horrible work and taking advantage of us and leaving us without a professional completed project for the li

Per phone conversation, business was unable to get concrete for two weeks, which delayed the completion of the work.  The consumer chose to hire someone else to finish the job.  Consumer paid business 50% of the job up front and business lost all of their forms, etc to the other contractor.  Business feels they completed more than 50% of the work by removing a concrete ramp and prepping the area for the concrete. Only thing not completed was the pouring and finish.

Contractor no showed on multiple occasions. Required 1/2 down to start project and 1/2 at finish. Did not complete any portion of project, only put boards up and no showed again. Told contractor to retrieve his tools and return half of deposit due to no shows and leaving me with no protection from uninsulated cold for 2 weeks. Retrieved tools and did not refund. No tax ID business discovered. Paid only in cash, does not pay taxes for employee or self and delinquent 20k on child support all self disclosed while at my home. Will file with IRS as well. I have every text, messenger conversation and many photos to prove date of hire to date of fire of minuscule work accomplished and dates said he would arrive and did not.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Ms. **** contacted me on 11.31.21. She told me she was living in a trailer with a room addition attached. She said the company who put up the addition failed to install a moisture barrier to protect the ceiling - water was coming in from the roof of the addition. I carefully explained to her that the roof had been installed incorrectly, and would need to be removed and a new roof put on. She begged me to help her with the problem. I explained that I had other jobs, and didn't know when I could get out.

She said she would be patient and work with my schedule. I came out that day and I took out the dropped ceiling, and hauled away insulation. We worked till 9pm at night.I told her I would be back the next day, but I had to pour concrete on another job. She paid me $900.

On December 1st, I went to ***** and bought the materials for the jobs, 2 x 4s and screws and can lights. We returned to her home that day with the material. I had to rip the 2x4s in half because there wasn't enough room between the metal roof and the drop ceiling. We stayed till 8pm. She paid an additional $300.

On December 4th, we returned and finished hanging the 2x4s, working till 6pm.

On December 5th, she texted saying she didn't want us to finish the job, and to pick up my tools, along with some threats. We went over and picked up some tools which were left on the porch. She kept a 4 foot level and a drill.

She voided the contract by firing me. Given that we put in about 30 hours, and I typically charge $60 an hour, she received a $20 discount per hour, plus a level is about $25, and my $200 drill, so she  is not entitled to a refund, or further service.

If you have any questions or need a copy of the invoice, please let me know. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not have his drill. His former employee stopped to say he quit after not being paid 750 dollars.  ***** ******** said he’s willing to substantiate the owners failure to show up, that contractor returned some of my purchased products to *****, stating he was returning 15 treated 2x4 s which was 5 and was caught on ***** cameras and was told not to return to the store or he would be charged. The hours worked are far short of his work. I too have the receipts attached for payment.

      Regards,

      ****** ****
