We took our car here for a blown head gasket. 16 days and $3000 later, we got it back. Just about a week later, the check engine light was on again. There was no radiator fluid. We filled it and went on with life. 5 weeks later, the head gasket was blown again. Since we had a warranty, we took it back to the same shop. They “fixed” it again. They said they would not honor the warranty again. In less than 10 miles, the check engine light was on again. There was no oil in it. Due to the nature of replacing the head gasket, all of the fluid should have been filled. They also acted like they were giving us a great deal because we paid cash; however, the invoice was only for $1938.01. Not sure if this was an attempt at tax evasion or just trying to rip us off. We will never use this shop again, and we would hate for someone else to get suckered in like we did.Business response

To Whom It May Concern,
Mr. ******* called Affordable Auto repair to set an appointment for blown head gasket. Price was given and approved, work was performed and completed on 5/27/2022. Customer was called to retrieve vehicle, bill was paid in full.On or about 7/15/2022 Mrs ******* called and stated vehicle was smoking and running poorly same as before. Informed her to get vehicle here. Vehicle arrived and we repaired head gasket failure again and returned to Mr ******* on7/21/2022 with no charge to customer. Upon return of vehicle we felt as though we needed to research head gasket failures pertaining to this particular vehicle. Sure enough we found several complaints and bulletins. Mr ******* arrived to pick up vehicle and we discussed the above mentioned head gasket issues, he was polite and appreciated us repairing his vehicle. he stated he had researched this problem as well, and stated he was going to trade it in asap. He was also informed we could not warranty a problem with manufactures defect, we also gave him the printed documents showing our findings. He signed the invoice stating no charge for work performed and would be no additional warranty. This was the last I've seen or heard from the ******* family, until now. I know they are frustrated, but they could have called me or corresponded with me. This is a sad situation, but I've done nothing wrong, they called, I priced, they agreed, we repaired, they paid, it failed, we repaired free. At some point the manufacturer should refund them, but I cant control that.
