I had handyman connection come out and tear down my old deck and install new deck around my new pool. They came out and started tearing down old deck around June of 2022. The pool was installed around mid Sept 2022. Handyman came back out around December to finish tear down and start new deck. They some what finished the deck in Jan 2023. We had issue from the start with the deck. They had cut pieces that did not look very good. They came back out and fixed that issue. They also did not cut the boards correctly around the pool and could not come up with a good idea. After months they finally came back out to put a black piece of rubber material around the deck to make it look better. However, by the end of the day the heat had already cause it all to wrinkle and it just wasn't going to work. A month or so later we contacted them again about these issue and there plan on fixing the issues. So a month or so later a guy came out tore all the deck boards off and adjusted the boards to make them look slightly better but in the process they did not use the hidden fasteners at all in most boards. Some boards weren't even secured to the joist. We told them about the issue they sent another guy out and he started drilling holes in all the decking to secure the boards. which is not what we wanted. We talked to them again about all the holes in the deck so then they sent a guy out to put plug in the holes. He did not installed the plugs correctly he forced them in so now there all mushroomed and popping out of the deck boards. Since then they refuse to do anything else. The owner says hes sold the company to an employee that currently works there and he's basically in court and the government owns all his assets. We still have many problems with the deck we have paid them over 17000 and have probably that much or more in material. Some of the issues that remain are building code issues and others are cosmetic issues.

Unfortunately the company has closed down and as the customer mentioned the *** filed a lien to freeze all bank accounts so until that is settled nothing can be done.

These issues I have told the owner about and he has refused to come out and fix anything else.  His reason is because the *** has ceased  all of his assets and he's in court basically.  I still have holes every where in my deck bc they didn't use the hidden fasteners  that I bought. They use plugs on most of the holes but we're installed wrong and now they are all mushroomed  and popping  up. There is a step that's 10 1/2 inch drop which is not code. Lots of cosmetic  issues.  Just poor craftsmanship  ship overall.

Unfortunately the company had closed down and as the customer and previous comment stated we have an outstanding loan the *** and as part of the process they have placed a lien and frozen all bank accounts until a settlement is reached.

The owner / company refused to come out and fix any  of the issues. The owner has sold the business  and is being sued currently. I still have tons of issues with the deck.  Way to many issues to list.  Most are cosmetic  issues because the guys he hired just dont know how to do the work. Also i have a building code issue as well with the steps. Waste of thousands of dollars bc of this company.

On July 12, 2022, I hired Handyman Connection of Blue Ash to remodel my bathroom (install shower tiles, install floor tiles, install plumbing fixtures, install vanity, install light, install mirror, fix ceiling, install drywall, install wall base, etc.) They have performed very poor workmanship on the project. They offered to refund $6250 for the payment I've made to them for the labor. I would like them to reimbursement me for all damaged materials, used materials and expenses related to the bathroom in additional to refunding for the $6250 labor expense. I am requesting a payment of $12,278.86 from Handyman to cover the mentioned expenses. The reason is because I would need to demolish the bathroom, and start my project over. I will need to purchase all the materials again. All the work that completed by Handyman was very poor workmanship. I am in the process of obtaining witnesses, quotes, and evaluations from professionals in the industry regarding the work that was completed by Handyman. The general censuses is the work completed by Handyman was of poor quality. I've attached photos of the worked that was completed by Handyman so far, a list of expenses, and documentation from a professional stating that the quality of workmanship completed by Handyman was very poor.

There is a lot on this project.   The shower pan that was installed by another vendor had a small amount of damage on it.  We have photos from the first day of the project that shows the damage.  It was very small and over looked because the plastic cover was left on the shower pan while the rest of the work was done so it was not obvious until it was removed at the very end.  In addition the customer stated the work was complete, he was happy,  and paid us in full on August 5th.  What we did not know is he did a side deal with the employee to do more work on the bathroom which was not through our company.   Over a month later the client contacted us and said the work we were hired to do was not completed.   That is when we found out most of the work was the additional work he paid for on the side and not through our company which was never done.   We went out to try to see if we could fix Things looked very different when we went out a month later than when we had last been on the job with the customer.   Something had been used to clean the tile which caused the grout to become discolored and some was damaged by the strong acid used.   We tried a few times to make corrections the customer requested even on work we were not hired to do.   When we pointed out the damage to shower tray and said we wanted to remove the bottom 3 rows of tile to fix it the customer said he wanted a full refund and to hire someone else to finish.   Even though we believe the problem was caused by doing a side deal with our contractor we agreed to try to keep things amiable.  Over the weekend has asked for an additional $4,000 which we said we did not feel was fair but we would either honor the original offer or we would redo the shower and finish the job.   He responded he wanted us to finish the job and spoke with our production manager about the details yesterday.  Now through BBB he is asking for a refund again and an additional $2,000 which we have ever heard of before.   Our original two offers still stand which is a very fair offer since so much of the damage was caused by doing a side deal not involving our company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

I've attached a copy of the contract of the work that Handyman agreed to do.

      (1) Part of the contract stated they would install wall tile inside of the shower and floor tile on the floor of the bathroom. This work was completed by Handyman in poor workmanship. The tiles are installed uneven. The grout residue covers almost all of the tiles (wall and floor tiles). They tried to clean the grout but it caused further damage. The grout are now all different colors, some of them are yellow. They caused damage to my shower base while in the process of working on my shower.

      (2) Part of the contract stated they would drywall the right side of the shower. Handyman worked on this and now the drywall is uneven.

      (3) Part of the contract stated they would install the vanity with top and faucet. Handyman worked on this and the vanity's sink is damaged.

Handyman has sent multiple workers (at least 3 different workers) to finish the contract since the first person came out to start the work, but all of them left the bathroom unfinished. Each one of them has explained to me in private that this bathroom cannot be finished with quality results based on its current condition. They told me to keep that information to myself and to not share it with the office of Handyman. The workmanship is extremely poor. That is why they all left without finishing the job. They recommend I start over.

Earl was the last person to talk to Handyman's management about the situation. After learning of the full details of the situation with Earl, Handyman offered me with a full refund of $6250. This is the payment I've made to Handyman for the labor.

I will accept the refund, but I will also need Handyman to pay for all the expenses I've incurred through this project. These expenses are fully detailed in the expense attachment. The majority of these expenses are for materials and labor expenses. I will need to demolish my bathroom and start the project over again with another company.

I am in the process of gathering quotes from other companies to work on my bathroom. I was already given a quote by Amy Ostigny, and she stated in her quote that that quality of workmanship here is very poor and she will need to demolish the bathroom. I've schedule other company to give me quotes on my bathroom and I believe they will all state that the workmanship by Handyman is poor and they will need to demolish the bathroom as well.

I am willing to accept $12,278.86 from Handyman. This will cover all expenses including labor and material. I also have receipts as documentation for my expenses.

I am not willing for Handyman to try to finish the project. They have sent many workers here already as I've stated and I don't want to waste any more time with Handyman. They are not able to finish the agreement.

I paid a deposit of $2,086.25 on 5/6/2022 for installation of new vinyl flooring and installation of a new tub/shower enclosure, new sink/vanity, and new toilet in the bathroom. It is now 7/18/2022, over 2 months later and the work is still not complete. The new vinyl flooring has many stains, cracks, nails popping through, and vinyl planks popping up. Since the flooring was not installed correctly, the warranty is void. I paid $1,746.49 for the flooring. I also paid over $1,800.00 when ***** and/or ***** called me many times from Home Depot needing supplies. So far, I have paid over $5,000.00 and 2 months later we can't show the house because it looks so bad. Today, 3 men came to the house to complete the work and make corrections. They identified over 30 places where the flooring needed repair. They said the only way to correct the flooring is to pull it up and reinstall it. They said they called the office and were told NO. I called the office today and left 2 messages. No response. I have tried to be patient about this situation but this is a RIDICULOUS and DISRESPECTFUL way to treat a customer. This job needs to be completed immediately or I need a complete REFUND so that I can hire a qualified contractor to do the work. I can't afford to continue losing so much money because of this situation.

We did not tell the team not to do the floors we told them to concentrate on the bathroom as we knew they could get that done on Monday.  When we sent them based on the original scope discussed we thought today would be plenty of time to get all the work done.   When they got there they decided they needed to expand the scope instead of just trying to the repairs which were originally discussed.  They have been on a 4 week project and they are in the last week now but it was outside so when it was raining they open for Monday only right now.  We told them to concentrate on finishing the bathroom on Monday rather than have multiple projects undone.  We also wanted to do some research in the office on the actual flooring used since they are not all the same.  Some vinyl plank floors can be stacked others need stagger seems.  Some can be glued down and others floating.   We asked the team to send us photos of the actual flooring installed and we did the research and found that floor needs to be offset but it can floating or glue down application.   We started to call and text the team at 1:30 to find out how long they would need but we did not reach them yet.   Once we know we can schedule them back out.

Hi, We got the bathroom repaired through this company, they started working on the bathroom project and completed it on March 25, 2020. This included the installation of the shower door. They provided one year warranty for their work. Exactly on March 22, 2021, we reached out to them that floor tile was coming out from the shower door corner due to a water leak. They sent the person who fixed the tile but did not fix the shower door leak. Now, this water leak is coming through the ceiling downstairs room from the same location where the tile was fixed. When I contacted them they refuse to repair it and say it's out of warranty. I would like to get this fixed or reimburse the cost of damage caused by the water damage due to improper shower door installation.

We actually do not disagree with most of the details.   We did a  bathroom remodel for them which was complete in March of 2020.   In March of 2021 they called and said a single tile had come loose and we came and took care it under warranty.  There was no mention at the time of any kind of water leak.   We were called again in October of 2021 and told there was a water leak that they wanted us to come check out and that they thought the water leak may have caused the original problem with the tile.   This was 17 months after the job was complete but we sent a tech out anyway to check and make sure there was no hidden problem with initial installation.  When we got there the problem was that the caulk had largely been removed from the track of the shower.   There was very little left, looking like it had been removed on purpose, maybe by an over zealous cleaner trying to scrub away mold.   We explained the issue was the caulking and it looked as if it had been removed and that the shower had not leaked for the 17 months it was there and they would need to have it re-caulked.   There was another contractor working in another bathroom while we were there and were told he would take care of it since it would only take a few minutes to repair and he had caulk with him so we left thinking everything had been resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

The caulking of the shower door in both corners on shower door was  not installed  from the beginning  that  was completely overlooked by the person who installed the door that caused seepage of the water.

The cause of the tile popped up was due to the water damage to subfloor, the person who fixed acknowledge the repair mentioned the subfloor beneath was wet.

We are not experts, we found the discoloration in our ceiling the same place the where the work was completed by company, that prompted us to call company and the person who came acknowledge the continuous seepage of water from shower door has caused the damage.

Again, i am requesting the company to repair the damage.
