Dear Better Business Bureau, I am writing to formally file a complaint against Credit First National Association (CFNA) concerning my credit card account ending in 5111. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter with CFNA, the issue remains unresolved, and I am seeking assistance from the BBB in addressing the problem. Details of the Complaint: Account Information: Account Holder Name: ****** ******* Account Ending: 5111 Reward Certificate Issue: According to my July 09, 2024 – August 08, 2024 billing statement, I had $20 in active rewards certificates that were set to expire on July 13, 2024. On July 12, 2024, I made a qualifying purchase of $61.54 at Tires Plus in Buchanan, WI?. As of my August 09, 2024 – September 08, 2024 billing statement, no credit was applied for the redeemed rewards, and the rewards were marked as expired with no active rewards remaining?. Customer Service Attempts: I have contacted CFNA numerous times regarding this issue: on August 7, August 13 (twice), August 21, September 4, and September 19?. Despite my efforts, CFNA has failed to provide any assistance or resolve the issue. I believe I am owed a $20 statement credit, which has not been issued. I am requesting that CFNA issue the $20 statement credit as owed and ensure that this problem is resolved promptly. I have provided copies of the relevant billing statements for your reference. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that with the assistance of the Better Business Bureau, CFNA will address this issue satisfactorily. Sincerely, ****** *******Business response

I requested paperless email statements from ************** but have not received any. This morning I received a text stating my account was over due with a $31.00 fee attached. When I called CFNA I was transferred 3 times and told my statements must've went to SPAM! How convenient. They would not remove late fee and would not give me a number or person to speak to for a complaint.Business response

I am writing to file a formal complaint against CFNA regarding its failure to accurately report my payment history to the credit bureaus, despite repeated efforts on my part to resolve this issue. Below is a timeline of the events that have occurred: I missed a payment in June 2024 but made a full payment in July 2024. However, CFNA inaccurately reported that no payment was received in July. Upon noticing the incorrect reporting, I disputed the issue with CFNA, providing proof of my July payment. Unfortunately, CFNA did not correct the information, and the inaccurate reporting remains on my credit file. To make matters worse, CFNA "credited" my July payment towards August instead, further complicating my account status. I made full payments for July, August, and September 2024, and subsequently paid the account in full at the beginning of August. Despite the account being fully paid, CFNA refuses to update my payment history to reflect the correct dates of payment and has not removed the inaccurate information from my credit report.Business response

Their response does not resolve anything. I have no contact with this company and therefore have no business with this company. I do not wish to discuss anything of a personal nature with a company I have no business with. Again, any so called collection is fraudulent, as I have entered into no contract with this company and I demand that any negative impact to my credit report be removed immediately.

I'm submitting this complaint regarding CFNA's refusal to waive a late fee on my account, which stems from their failure to provide the necessary access for me to manage my payments efficiently. I never received my physical credit card or any account statements, making it impossible for me to set up an online account for easier payment management. Consequently, I’ve been forced to call CFNA every time I need to make a payment, and the hold times are typically over 30 minutes, which has been incredibly inconvenient. Despite these ongoing issues, CFNA is holding me responsible for a late fee that was a direct result of the lack of proper access to my account. They are at fault for not providing the essential materials needed to manage my account, and I am requesting that this fee be waived, considering the circumstances were beyond my control. Thank you for looking into this issue.Business response

This is a nonsensical automated response from them. No attempt has been made to reach me directly, and I have already retained an attorney to resolve this matter. It's also worth mentioning that when I attempted to make a payment via their automated phone system using the checking account on file - the payment failed and routed me to their long agent queue. They have given me so reasonable options to pay my balance and will be dealt with. This could have all been avoided had they done the right thing and simply erased the ridiculous late fee.

I have had this credit card for 6+ years and just used it recently. After I used it I missed one payment by 8 days and they reduced my credit limit by $500.00. I need this card for auto repairs and can't believe they would reduce my credit limit right after I use it. I want my credit limit put back to where it was when I got the card $1,400.00.Business response

On 6/8/23 an account was opened in my name at a ********* location in NY. The account ended in *****. This was deemed as identity theft and filled with Equifax and said creditor. I received an updated credit report today and the account is still active. I called ********* where Ivy stated this account was closed with a $0.00 account balance due to identity theft and submitted as such. Yet Equifax has not received anything. The Equifax Confirmation # *********** The case number stating this has been resolved is *************. ********* told me they could not personally send me a letter stating this resolved and Equifax said they should be able to as well as filing the electronic paperwork. The account is still saying I owe $907.00. I have never lived in NY and am now requesting a copy of the original application and letter of cancelation.Business response
