I would give negative stars if possible. They deny all procedures as a first practice. Make you submit an appeal and then tell you they never received the appeal. They deny and lie. No accountability. If you do not trust your "preferred providers" then don't do business with them. I trust my doctor that I see on a regular basis. If he says he needs a scan to better determine what needs to be done, then I trust he needs a scan. Medical Mutual has no business saying it's not necessary. You're an insurance company, not a medical facility. Stop trying to practice medicine. Leave that to the doctors. Just pay the bills like you're supposed to do. What's the point of insurance if I have to pay out of pocket to get the proper tests done in a timely manner? What's the point of insurance if I have to wait in pain for months and fight just to have a CT scan performed. Let the doctors do their job and just do yoursMedical Mutual of Ohio Response

I spoke with a Broker through *********** **** ******* I have about 15 diagnoses. Mostly autoimmune. I spoke with a man and I had the paper for a bit but through it away. I told him "ALL MY DRS ARE THROUGH CLEVELAND CLINIC. PCP, HEMATOLOGIST, Will this plan be good for this? His answer was yes. NOW I am told EVERYTHING IS OUT OF NETWORK DUE TO SOME NARROW MINDED NETWORK THAT NO ONE COVERS! i HAVE TWO OUT OF POCKET BILLS THAT DID NOT FLAG UNTIL I TRIED TO MAKE A F/U VISIT, GETTING WEAKER BY THE DAY STILL TRYING TO FIND A PLACE THAT COVERS MY IRON INFUSIONS. MY SOLUTION WOULD BE PUT ME ON A PLAN THAT WORKS FOR ME! LIKE YOU SAID IT WOULD! LOL I HAVE 2 OTHER CO-WORKERS THAT CAN'T SEE THEIR DRS EITHER BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF NETWORK! THEY ARE LUCKY THEY ARE HEALTHY PEOPLE. BUT, WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THEM??? THIS IS INSURANCE IS USELESS TO ME AND I AM GOING TO LOSE MY SPECIALISTS THAT IT TOOK ME ALMOST 10 YEARS TO FIND! When the doctor prescribed medication, insurance told me there was a list of criteria that I needed to meet before being approved. I have done the things on the list and now being denied the medication still. My question is, why even have people go through a list if the plan is still to deny people the medication that they need? It is a shame that the doctor I work with that knows me can't prescribe me what he feels will work for me. I'd give them zero stars if possible. My father died and medical mutual refuses to pay for the hospital bills. My mother submitted all required paperwork several times, but the company continues to send denial letters. The company even suggested that my mother hire a medical coder to work on the paperwork - which is the insurance company's job. When my father was alive, medical mutual even denied to pay for his flu shot, which is clearly covered by insurance.Medical Mutual of Ohio Response

You can tell by the huge number of 1 star reviews that you should definitely choose another insurance company. This one is as slippery as they come. They would be more honest if they would tell you from the start that they deny everything that they say is covered. Before you get stuck with worthless insurance for a year waiting for open enrollment. Buy your insurance from somewhere else. Healthcare. gov aught to remove these guys for fraud but they don't give a rip about you either. Now wait for the canned response from Medical Mutual. Beware!Medical Mutual of Ohio Response

This company is not a professional insurance company, but an irresponsible liar - fraud supporting company: One staff Teya lied to me that D1110 is dental code for teeth polishing conflicting with an earlier statement of another staff that Prophylaxis is teeth cleaning. They betrayed me, and injured ******** system integrity by rewarding a fraudster dentist (who hurt my teeth) his false claim payment from my $850.50 5-month premiums paid to ******** who then paid my premiums to them ********** ******** advantage plan) against my long time request, since February, to protect ******** integrity ensuring beneficiaries receive good quality medical and health cares by taking the wrongful payment back from the fraudster DDS Droba, G. T. as explained below: Unethical, unprofessional Dentist DDS Droba The first time, a dentist - DDS Droba, denied cleaning my teeth (D1110 Prophylaxis-Adult: to control local irritational factors by the removal of plaque, calculus and stains from the tooth structures in the permanent and transitional dentition). Even worse, he, took the advantage that he had my mouth open lying down on a dental patient chair, violated my will-primary purpose to have only teeth cleaning - not teeth polishing (not a teeth health necessity), especially not teeth polishing without teeth cleaning first. So, he had unethically, unprofessionally polished my teeth to have sealed, buried the uncleaned dirt's onto my tooth structures under polishing substance causing irritation to my tooth structures resulting in minor bleeding around my teeth as I have been seeing while gently blushing my teeth with my favorite soft toothbrush and ******* Anticavity Fluoride Toothpaste. He claimed/received the unjust payment (from my premiums paid to ********** for D1110 Prophylaxis-Adult which he never did, but only injuring my teeth.Medical Mutual of Ohio Response

My family was covered by Medical Mutual of Ohio through my Husband's work in 2019. Boy what a nightmare it has been to get claims paid! I was pregnant with my son and easily met our high deductible in early April 2019. My son was born late April and six weeks later I had a week long stay for gallbladder pancreatitis. None of my claims were getting paid. Each had provider out of network which was totally wrong! I went back and forth having to look up each provider to see if they were in network. Slowly getting one claim resubmitted to be paid. I still have 3 claims not paid and I can't log in anymore into the website. I have over 11000 worth of bills that should be covered but this insurance company has failed to recognize it. I work in medical billing and have more knowledge in this stuff. Well where do I begin, my father has medical mutual and I was looking over his claims statement dating all the way back to 2020, and a couple of interesting things I've discovered, first is that there are claims that are still processing from 2020 which doesn't make sense at all because its currently 2022. Second is that there are claims that you've accepted and paid out to the dental office for treatments he never received or was physically present for. Third is the one time you actually provided him with a treatment statement was sent to him by mail which that treatment would end up with a total cost of around $1400 and you would only cover $49 , that's the same amount he pays each month for the insurance, so as long as he's had it he paid you more every month than what you would actually be willing to cover him for. Now my issue is you NEVER sent anything to him pertaining to the claims and treatments you claim that happened, I try to contact your customer service line and the only result from that is more excuses and unprofessional people who Absolutely have no care for an elderly person who's trying to get his treatment, at this point from my point of view it looks like you're only willing to take his money without his knowledge, so i recommend you resolving this confusing issue before someone takes notice and takes action, FYI no need for a response because I don't respect what you stand for.Medical Mutual of Ohio Response
