The Facts: Cannot Estimate Budget - forgets to add key expensive items to estimate (including all electrical expenses and floor laying labor), doesn't itemize material costs even when negotiated up front, asks for multiple 'progress payments' (not discussed upfront) without producing previously paid for items. Cannot Estimate Time - Originally estimated 3 weeks, entered into third month before we decided to cancel. Inability to Fix Mistakes - Puts it on the client to determine course of action to fix their mistakes, then disappears. Once multiple mistakes were pointed out, he packed up tools to work on another job. Blames lack of materials when they are readily available in area stores. Lack of Attention to Details - Multiple tiling mistakes including unleveled grout lines on all walls, large half inch+ gaps in the corners, off center tile on step over ledge into shower. He used a layover application of tile strips instead of picture framing. Installed tiles that were chipped/imperfect. Incorrect light installation. Lack of Integrity - No motivation or drive to correct or make issues better (disappeared and blamed it on inventory but both stores nearest to the house had tile in stock. We even offered to get it.) Proven limited knowledge base for someone who claims to have multiple expert resources. Doesn't refund the $1,400 he's 'ear marked' for material items we never received (vanity and shower door.) Cody can frame and put up walls/drywall and cleans up well, but would not recommend him for large projects especially any involving tiling or electricity.New To You Construction, LLC Response

Thank you for the Review.. 1. I forgot to add the flooring labor involved in your project which would have amounted to $1250.00 for the additional upgrades you chose for the flooring be installed .I had also told you this and that I wouldn't charge for this mistake on my end . 2. All electrical expenses where quoted into the estimate.. Your specialty light switches where not compatible with the lights you provided. your husband thought the white needs to be wired to the switch, Which is not correct at all. 3.Estimated Time . You both had an unreasonable expected time of completion. Your husband only thought it should take 120 man hours to complete a 25k job . the time completion was not discussed as you described 4. I requested a deposit payment and then 1 progress payment . not multiple payments …We spoke about this upon our first meeting with your 95 page slide show which you still never shared with me to allow us to pull your project together 100 % . We cannot bankroll a 22k project and i don't know a contractor willing to do it without any payment. 5.We where willing to complete any and all concerns to the project . you are typically out side of our service area so when we order materials its within our typical service area.. we don't search the whole state ,which is why we had to order the materials 6 We didn't disappear from your job either .. we spoke with you about needing to order materials and additional job site protection on the day you brought up you concerns . the following day you called and said it was available near by .. we said we could be up the next day . you said you would call back and confirm ,,,,,,, your husband then text me and said you where cancelling the contract .. You didnt even give us a chance to fix or correct any issues. 7.As far as a refund .. actually you owe me money and haven't allowed me to pick up remaining tools on site.
