          On 04/26/2024 General Monkeys For Adoption came to the attention of BBB. At that time a consumer submitted a complaint to BBB regarding an add listed on Facebook mentioning “monkeys for adoption” and a link to a website for General Monkeys For Adoption. The consumer was directed to purchase a money card for $150 and then arrange pickup at the address listed online. Additional money was requested for the permit and adoption papers and was declined. A partial refund was to be provided after the purchase of a gift card. The consumer never received delivery of the monkey or a refund. BBB has since received other complaints for the business describing similar situations. At this time, BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business. BBB made two or more requests for background information from the business. BBB has not received a response from this business and/or has not been able to verify information received from this business. On 05/22/2024, BBB checked the website to determine when it was created and where it was registered. The website was created in 2022 and is NOT registered in Ohio. A Facebook Group profile page was created on 03/19/2024. The website and social media platforms use stock photos/stolen photos from other sellers and pages online to represent its inventory. On 06/28/2024 BBB sent an email/letter to General Monkeys For Adoption requesting the following information:


          1. Physical Location and contact information
          2. Preferred method of contact (mail, fax or email)
          3. A brief description of the Monkeys the company offers, how they are obtained and source of images listed on the website, Yelp, Facebook Group and other social media.
          4. Proof of Licensing/Registrations and in what states.
          5. Information on the adoption process and delivery
          6. Information on how payment is sent/accepted


          BBB also requested any additional information that would enable BBB and consumers to better understand the business.

          BBB did not receive a response.
