My neighbor hired Dan Buxton Roofing LLC to replace his roof. As they were tearing off the roof they bombarded my house with shingles and slate tile. The slate ripped some screens and even broke a window. I called them several times and they said they would investigate and call me back. NEVER called back. The last time I called they claimed they didn't do it. Bits of slate are imbedded all throughout my wood siding. A piece of slate tile is still sticking out from a screen and they say they didn't do it. Dan Buxton Roofing LLC is just another SCUMBAG ROOFER.

After we heard of an issue, we investigated the problem immediately

We check the exposed side of the house for slate marks.
Checked broken windows for any evidence that a piece of slate broke this windowpane.
Spoke with the tenant about the broken windowpane.

                  Facts

We were not notified of the broken windowpane until 30 days after the project was complete.
Salesman asked the tenant about the window, she didn’t know when the window got broken.
There were no slate marks on the exposed wall.
                  The buildings are 15’-20’ apart.
The attached photo shows broken glass between the screen and the windowpane not on the inside of the house.
If the window was broken from the outside the glass would have been inside the house.
The branches in front of the window would have been broken if something flew into it.
In 49 years of being an Ohio Roofing Contractor, we have never had a claim from a neighbor.

When we told the property owner, we would pay for getting the windowpane fixed, he said, NO, he wants a brand-new window or he will report us to the Better Business Bureau.

All evidence points to an owner of a property that is not in the best condition trying to cash in by threatening us with a BBB negative report, damaging our rating.

We get people like this from time to time, we are a fair, honest roofing contractor, if it was brought to our attention while the job was going on and we were at fault. it would have been fixed immediately…30 days later, tenant doesn’t remember when the window was damaged. . .
      Sounds a little questionable

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      REPLY TO THEIR FACTS:

-When I learned about the roofer bombarding the house with slate from
my tenant, I called Dan Buxton Roofing LLC the next day. On that day
there was a 40 yrd. dumpster in the driveway. Who leaves a dumpster
blocking the driveway for over 30 days?

-My tenant is Asian, she does not speak English, her husband does.
He was the one who informed me about the house getting bombarded by the
         roofers.

-Even now there are bits of slate imbedded in the wood siding.

-No tarp was used to prevent anything from hitting my house.
Professional roofers would use a tarp.

-The window is double pane. The inside pane is not broken. The outside
pane is broken. This means something (SLATE TILE) from the outside
         broke this window.

Everytime I called Dan Buxton Roofing LLC they said they would call me back.
NEVER DID. The last time I called, they just claimed they didn't do it.
I just want everyone to know what scumbag roofers Dan Buxton Roofing LLC are.

      Regards,
