Started sunroom project 09/2022: still not done 3/6/2023! Unorganized, don't provide plans for their installers, can deliver materials to complete the project and when they do, not right nor made for what they are doing (doors twice as thick as the walls built and look stupid). Patchy. Leaking gutter, too many gripes to list. Still waiting on replacement doors and addtl windows. This 4-day job is 6 months and running. Required half the money up from me. I know they try to protect themselves, but, who protects me? Who is my advocate? Might be my lawyer....really soon. I've talked with sales, owners and others. Trying to work things out but is very distruptive and upsetting. I've missed several holidays use of this space.Dacraft MFG Factory Direct Response

I can certainly apologize for the length of time this room enclosure is taking. There was a misunderstanding from the get-go between the salesperson who laid the room out, and the Homeowner. After the room was built, the Homeowner didn't like the layout and wanted to add two additional windows that had to be special ordered. We don't manufacture windows and we're at the mercy of the manufacturer, and can't possibly do anything until we receive them. We have been told that the windows should be in by the end of this week. If that is the case, we will install them next week. The doors that were installed are the standard door that we install in all of our rooms. They are nice, heavy-duty patio doors. The customer wanted the doors to be the same thickness as the wall, so we had to special order new doors. The new doors have been delivered to us and we will exchange them when we install the windows. Hopefully all work will be completed by the end of next week, if the windows are received from the manufacturer as expected. Roger Wax Sr, PresidentCustomer Response

I call bull. There were no plans submitted to us nor available to us. It was a wing-it job with me conversing with the installer. The doors stuck out an additional 21/4" beyond the wall and could not be aesthetically remediated. The additional windows and more reasonable doors were an appeasement to complete the job rather than demand a refund. I think when it is finally completed, since it is holding up a month or so of additional work, and if it doesn't leak nor create additional issues, it might just turn out ok. We shall see.Review from Keith O

True-Arch Radiused Patio Cover totally eliminates leaks. This is in their Brochure! I bought this with the understanding that it will not leak. Well it was installed in 2013, and I called them to let them know it leaked in 2013. They sent a repair man and he spent about 15 minutes applying some sealing in one place. Then left, I called several times after this with no reply. This True-Arch Radiused Patio Cover totally eliminates leaks has a 25 year warrenty, says on my contract. I have just called them again in May 2022. No reply or a call from them. They DO NOT stand by their WARRANTY! So do not think they do, Its a sales PITCH. I do not recommend buying from this Company! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just a operator to pass along a message.Review from Cathy K

At 1st Dacraft seemed to be a good company. When I discovered the leaf guard had not been installed, that was the beginning of BAD service. The leaf guard was installed by 2 men that were not happy about having to fix this. They were rude & said it doesn't work anyways. The Biggest issue still remains a problem & the patio Cover was installed 2 years ago this fall. The cover began to leak right at the entrance to the house. What started as a drip continued to get worse. After several calls someone FINALLY came, looked at it & came back to fix. It was only fixed temporarily. I called again both to Dacraft & to the man that resealed it a few times. Dacraft never called me back, & when I finally got a person, his reply was rude & basically no help. He said it must be my roof, which is a newer roof. I have not had a chance to pay someone else to go up & repair this issue. The leak is now spread more than 6' & occurs every time it rains, my entire patio gets wet. There is no way I would ever recommend this company.Dacraft MFG Factory Direct Response

The issue has been addressed and repaired. We believe the problem has been resolved, however, if the customer has any further issues or concerns, we encourage her to reach out to us. We are sorry her experience has been less than satisfactory. Like other similar companies, we've struggled with finding and retaining qualified labor during the past 2 unprecedented years.Review from Nola B

POOR COMMUNICATION / poor quality - I had a personal connection and that is why I chose Dacraft. They were here timely and completed the work quickly. However, they threw their debris in my recycle can so I had to remove it all & place in regular can. There were small pieces of sharp metal scraps left around the porch in the yard. Dog stepped on one a had a minor cut on his paw. But the REAL problem was that there was a leak. They sent the man that did the roof and he did what he could, but still leaking. After reaching out several times, I got no response or they would come whenever it suited them and promise the world, but never return. Finally, I had the number of the owner of the company, so I reached out to him. After many back & forths, he sent someone out a couple of times. The final word is that it is not their fault, but rather my roof that's causing the problem. All I know is my screened-in porch still leaks and it's on me to find the problem and correct (after spending $3200). Seems to me if my roof is a problem, that should have been assessed prior to installing something that abuts it & I should have been told. And to top it off, after receiving the text from the owner telling me that they are done with me, he blocked me from texting him!!! Funny, I found this out because I was texting to THANK HIM for getting back with me when the message came up undeliverable d/t being blocked. I guess that's what happens after they wash their hands of you. Wow! Great customer service, eh??? No worries though, I won't need to text him anymore because I will not use them for anything again. I will have a bucket in the middle of the screened in porch if you come for a visit. :(Dacraft MFG Factory Direct Response

in response to the customer's complaint i am sorry she is having the problem she is having but it has nothing to do with the cover we installed. it has everything to do with her roof that is leaking. the water is coming through her overhang not the patio cover. When she first purchased this home it had an existing patio cover that was leaking. We installed a new patio cover. She called saying the cover was leaking. We sent the original installer over to reseal the cover. He could not find where the cover was leaking but resealed the flashing anyway. The next rain, she called again and I sent my son to her home, and installed a double flashing to eliminate any possibility of leaking. After the next rain she called and said she still had water in her room. We sent our regular service man out who informed us (and took pics of her roof) that the water was coming thru the roof and out of her overhang. Her shingles were older and someone (not from our company) had sealed the waterlines on her existing shingles to try to prevent the roof from leaking. He sent pictures showing the water running out of the overhang, not the patio cover. I informed the customer that the problem she's having is her roof and NOT the patio cover. As much as she'd like this to be our problem, I assure you that it's not. I suggested that the only way to fix her problem is to remove the shingles at that area and install ice and water guard (new ohio code) and reinstall with new shingles. This would solve her problem completely. As far as blocking this customer's phone number, the only numbers I have ever blocked in my life is when they come up "scam caller". She does have my office number and email and she could have contacted me. I have offered to fix her roof under a separate contract but all we sold her was a patio cover, not a roof. I am truly sorry for any misunderstandings and/or inconveniences.Customer Response

I do not want you to be responsible for my leak. I just don't want the leak.
I had no idea your son did anything because I wasn't informed of that. Communication was not good.
I sent an email to your son showing a screenshot of the "blocked call" message. And I never was given your office number & email although I asked for it. I had gotten your number in the beginning and then your son's.
I wish I had been informed if my roof issue prior to the installation of the cover. Seems that should have been assessed. I
Truly what really frustrated me was the immediate block and I had just tried to text to thank you.
And there was never an offer to fix it as a second contract.
Communication probably would have solved most of the issues I have, well except for a leak.
Thanks for your response. If only the communication had been that informative all along. I only reached out to you after many texts and emails that were not returned by others in the company or were hired your company.Review from Matt S

I had an awning installed by these scam artisits and after 4 months the awning caved in. When getting in touch with the company they simply say call your insurance company. This was installed incorrectly from the start. Even had another employee come out to give a quote under a different company name. Darrell started pointing out everything that was installed incorrectly. He then pulled out a Dacraft brochure and that is when he was made aware his company did the install. To this day nothing has been made right. Avoid this company at all costs. They even claim a warranty that they will not honor.Dacraft MFG Factory Direct Response

According to the National Weather Service, that area received the highest snowfall in an 8 year period. It snowed all day, then freezing rain, and then more snow. There were many patio covers, manufactured by various companies (some of which were 25 to 30 years old!) that failed i the aftermath of that storm. We do not warranty Acts of God, clearly stated on our warranty.
Mr ** was advised to file an insurance claim. If he had insurance and had done so, his patio cover would have been replaced.
Dacraft manufactures and sells our products to many contractors, nationwide. We have been in business for decades. Darrel is simply an independent salesperson who was canvassing that area on his own. He is NOT an employee of Dacraft. He is a freelance salesperson.
It's unfortunate that me ** had these problems, however, it was indeed due to an Act of God and could have been remedied by an insurance claim.
