I purchased a truck on Dec. 1, 2023, (2) weeks later they called and wanted paystubs from my wife, I provided. They didn't like them, they wanted me to add her to my business to show funds, I did. They didn't like that either and removed her from being a co-signer. Told me to get another co-signer or get another $4,000. I came up with another $4,000 and the day it was going to be paid I was informed that my credit had been pulled too many times that no lender wants to deal with me and that I would need to find a really good co-signer to keep the truck. (They have ran my credit so many times that I Can't get a bank lender).

Consumer returned the truck- no action required

I am rejecting this response because:

That response means nothing, "I returned the truck, no further action", that is ridiculous. I work hard for my money and my time is just a precious as yours is. I have wasted so much of my time and effort to make this deal work just to have you guys rip it out from my grasp. All because you got a notice of these complaints. All I wanted was to get a truck to run my business. I found one and we were on the verge to make a deal. I want you to make it right. Again, 2 mos dealing with this issue, stressing out and getting completely exhausted over it. Also ruining my credit even more. Before you say, "I gave you the approval to find a lender" yes I did, but NOT 20+ times. There is no excuse for that. MAKE THIS RIGHT.

      Good evening,
             -Update-
Chillicothe Trucks had been notified of another complaint from another agency by me on Feb. 2.   I had located a new cosigner and gathered the extra $2,000 to go towards the truck purchase and was getting ready to finalize the deal until the found out I reported them on a complaint. In retaliation they told me I have (3) options. Option (1) come in with $24,163.14 to purchase truck. Option (2) bring truck back in before 6pm on Feb 2nd. Or Option (3) they report truck stolen and I'd have cops at my house. I had an hour an a half to get truck back and I was an hour and 15min. away. I had no choice but to return the truck.
Again we had a deal in motion on Feb. 2nd and they found out about the complaint and retaliated this way.

       Thanks ****** ***** ###-###-####

      Complaint: 21240279

I am rejecting this response because:

You stated that I provided "fraudulent paystubs", which is the reason you demand the truck back and ultimately why we couldn't make a deal. Can you please explain to me "who's" paystubs were the "fraudulent" ones? Attached are the (2) buyers order, (1) being provided on Jan.22 and the (2) provided on Feb.2, - (I'm not sure why it was dated 12/1). I only ask, because I provided bank statements for myself and my knew cosigner (Pam) didn't provide paystubs, therefore the "fraudulent paystubs" weren't in effect. Just admit the truth.  We had a deal in motion on FEB. 2, it's quite strange that there was a deal made on Feb. 2 and than you got a notice of a complaint from The Ohio Attorney General on Feb. 2nd, and than the evening of Feb. 2nd I receive a voice-mail of said notice with my (3) options. Which were again, bring a check for full truck amount, or return truck by 6, on Feb. 2nd, or your gonna report truck stolen and I'll have cops at my house. Again I have the voice-mail saved and again ALL on Feb. 2nd.

I would understand if you had demanded the truck back, back in Dec. When you first mentioned the pay stubs. I would have been upset but understood. But to have me jump through so many other hoops and different avenues to ultimately have my credit ruined so now I can't get a lender to get a truck, and than lose the truck that I thought I was going to get to keep. Also having to deal with all this nonsense for (2) months is just plain out ridiculous.  Alls I'm wanting is yous to make it right and to admit you were wrong. I shouldn't have been put through this and now I'm left with nothing.

      Regards,

The lender determines if they give you a loan or not, not us.  We only make money when you buy a truck.  They were the ones that determined the outcome, please call them.  We would love to sell you a truck.

Date of transaction - 7/22/23 Amount Paid - $40125.38 Business Commitment - I purchased a truck that I had checked out and test drove. The business commitment was to sell me a truck in good faith as is, but I also purchased a warranty for the truck. The Nature of the dispute is as follows: With the purchase of the warranty, I was under the impression that the power train plus warranty would cover any issues that I had with the truck, engine, cooling system, drive train, and so forth. The warranty would not cover the replacement of the motor they said was because it was an issue with the truck at the time I purchased the warranty, which I did not have a problem until the very next day after buying the truck, when it started overheating. I had taken the truck to **** ****** of Jackson in Ohio and they took the intake manifold off to find that it had been JB Welded to the heads and siliconed. The motor had been so hot that the intake manifold melted into the heads of the truck and I was told that the truck had to have the entire motor replaced. I have since paid to purchase a motor out of my pocket because I haven't been able to get a resolution from Chillicothe Truck or the warranty company. The business never tried to resolve this issue, the only thing that they did was put me off until they could find an excuse not to resolve this issue.

Vehicle was sold "AS IS" with a extended service contract.  Customer took vehicle to a dealership that preformed work on said vehicle.  Sounds like they did not fix the issue correctly.   Customer should inquire with that dealership and the ESC company.   Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:
The service to the vehicle was rejected by the warranty company because the work performed was prior to my purchase and the work performed was poor at best. The motor had been extremely overheated and needed replaced.

I bought a 2017 f250 on July 1st 2022, it had a check engine light for a part on backorder. I received an “I owe you” in writing and was told I’d be called as soon as the part arrived in a couple weeks. It is now almost November and I haven’t heard anything nor can I seem to find anyone at the Dealer willing to help.

I purchased the vehicle on 7/11/22 I pointed out some things that I noticed was wrong with the car they agreed to fix them and I pointed out that it had a check engine light on and that was due to the catalytic converter‘s being bad they replaced them at GOAT CUSTOMS which is where Chillicothe trucks sent me to it come back with an exhaust leak and my exhaust was changed so I had to take it to a local Exhaust Shop and have them repair it which Chillicothe trucks paid for then I noticed the front right headlight was dim so I started to look at the paint and noticed it had been repainted and it had paint chips curb rash on the rims scuff marks on the passenger side and the hood didn’t sit right the trim on the passenger side of the car is not correct water leaks down through the rear windshield because it wasn’t replaced properly after a wreck that was not fully reported on the Carfax the business did not provide me a Carfax Nor tell me that the vehicle has been in a wreck when I found out I asked them if they knew and they said why would we tell you something that would make you not want to buy that vehicle I now owe 26,000+ on a car that is only worth 8000 because it has had structural damage And has high mileage so now I’m stuck with a car that is falling apart Has over 100,000 miles and I cannot trade it in due to the negative equity that will be caused I would like to at least get that negative equity paid by Chillicothe trucks or them take back my loan because they have lied to me saying the car was in good shape and it had a clean Carfax and they didn’t tell me that it was in a wreck before I bought the car the injectors are also failing I have already had to replace one please let me know if there is any way that you guys can help

We purchase a vehicle from this dealership on 5/5/22 after 5 days the truck blew up they declined to give us a rental and they agreed to reimburst us for the rental for the weekend we kept it cheap on them so not to take advantage of the dealership. finally (after several calls asking for an answer) the sales manager CR advised me it was the injectors that went out and they was waiting on a parts and agreed to reimburst us for the rental he agreed he would send the check when we sent him a statement so we had to keep the rental for almost 3 weeks and us calling a few times a week he finally said "we are waiting on a motor to come in" i said i thought it was the injectors he said no it was the motor so i need you all to return the rental they sent us a very small jeep renagade that smelled aweful and had dents and burn holes in the seats but we didnt complain we took the rental back and waited for about 2 more weeks and at this point we had not recieved any reimbursement i again asked when will we get the check for the rental CR took his time and never sent the check and when i finally was able to get him on the phone again he tells me they already paid me for it after some arguing he said i will mail it out asap and the next day tells us our vehicle is done/fixed so we drive back to chillicothe 1.5 hr drive one way and still no reimbursement check waiting on us so we drove it home had it 2 more days and it did the same thing the night before our yearly vacation i told him they needed to buy it back and they said they would cover the current rental until buy back was finalized and they then told me they would not reimburse the $1100 for the rental even tho we asked CR and Steve several times noone said anything until CR finally answered the phone and said that he already told me he wasnt paying for it even tho i have text saying other wise we just need the $1100 at this point. buyback was finalized 7/22/22 he denied reimbursement of rental on 7/18/22 returned 7/19

We covered the rental car for the customer up to the point the customer signed off and we mailed the check to Wells Fargo as agreed.  We let the customer know they should go ahead with the purchase of another vehicle, before the paperwork was signed, as we wouldn't cover the rental car after the paperwork was signed for the buyback.  Mr. Ayala has made several phone calls to us, cursing and threatening.  We have made every effort to help the customer through the situation even when we did not have too.

      Thanks

      Customer response

      08/05/2022

I clearly asked several times about them covering the last rental care but the company is horrible at contacting anyone back and the buyback was not finalized until the 22nd so the last rental should have been covered by the company since this is what you said and as far as me cursing and threatning you (CR) i think you are a horrible manager and you are even worst human being you knew we had to get another rental while we waited for things to get finalized and the bank (Wells Fargo) said your company didnt even send the check until the 22nd and we returned the rental days before that so yes you owe us he $1100 weather you HAD to or not you agreed to do that and if you wasn't going to you should have been a man and let ******* or me know

      08/08/2022

We do not owe you anything, we offered you a courtesy refund on a rental to help you out when we did not have to.  We allowed you to return a vehicle you bought AS IS, again we did not have too.  We went above and beyond for you.

      Thanks

      Customer response

      08/09/2022

The fact that you said you would refund us is the part that you should have followed thru with. The fact that we repeatedly asked Steve and noone would give us a straight answer is also part of the problem. We have also not recieved our downpayment back or the money that we paid for payments to keep the truck payment from being past due which the payment was due the 19th and the FINALIZATION was not final until the 22nd from what the bank told us so you said you would cover the rental until everything was FINALIZED so either your a liar or don't know the definition of finalized. Either way Steve lied and also said money would be refunded to us and here we are almost a month after the FINALIZATION and we have only recieved a check for $35 now i see that they have placed the truck for sale and have not disclosed that they have had to swap the engine twice with the incorrect mileage. CR you probably didn't have to do any of that but the fact that you said you would do it means DO IT don't lie and avoid the questions be a man if you have a pair which after dealing with you I'm sure you don't you make your company look bad reguardless of what you did or didn't have to do. Bottom line we are atleast owed our down payment and the payments we paid on the vehicle. On your word you owe us the $1100 for the last rental but i see you would rather goto court.I asked nicley tho. Thats why you got cussed out is because your rude and talked to me like i was some hilljack that you can talk down to. MY WIFE IS STILL WAITING ON A PHONE CALL FROM YOU BUT I AM SURE THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN

Entered by BBB staff LO Consumer states she purchased a vehicle from the business on 4/4/22. She states she has been having trouble getting her title. She was told she would receive the title 5/13/22 but she never got it. Consumer contacted the business 5/19/22 and they advised her she would have to make her car payment before they could send the title. The consumer contacted the finance company (Westlake) and they advised the consumer that the business made a payment on her behalf, which she could not understand because she is in charge of making her own car payments. The consumer contacted the business to ask about this payment but they are no longer responding to her texts.

      Business response

Customer failed potential lenders interview process 3 separate times, first payment was due prior to financing, therefore customer needs to make first payment to Chillicothe Truck then we will assign financing to Westlake.  Customer IS NOT making an extra payment, just the payment that is due.

Customer can call us at 740-773-8782 to arrange payment.   Title is ready for customer, but was delayed due to customer failing interview.

The communication process  throughout this entire deal have been extremely poor. Everything that was asked of me to complete each step in this contract was done in a timely fashion with total cooperation. I have been treated less than a equal partner in this situation and the lack of this communication leaves me with the short end of the stick. I truly understand that certain circumstances happen and certain deals may take longer to finish than normal: but justifying the unprofessional advantage of withholding a title when I was told a week prior to the payment that was made by this company shows ill intent. If anyone informed me of the completion date and the available day that the payment was needed I assure you that would have been addressed. There have been numerous times i have reached out to this company as well as the finance company to make a payment prior to May 7,2022. It is currently going on a month now that I am unable to operate this vehicle and I need someone to realize the disadvantage that is on my behalf. I would like to be met in the middle and receive some type of acknowledgement that this is not my fault but a sequence of peculiar events. I do not believe that I should be the only person that bares the grunt of this situation. I have numerous text and call logs that support the unjustly accusations that implies my absence of communication and effort to comply.

I had originally purchased an extended warranty for an additional $5,000. I later found out that this warranty does not cover much at all within the fine print. I called back 4 months later to cancel the warranty and get my $5,000 back. I spoke to ******** ******* ****** ******* **** ***** *nd various other employees who were all unsuccessful at transferring my call over to their "finance" department. I called 3-4x daily since march 21st, 2022. This kind of business practice is obviously unacceptable and of poor character. What kind of business can't return a phone call? I spent $78,000 on a truck from them and this is not the kind of service or courtesy I believe to be reasonable. Please return my call. Please locate your finance guy. Please treat customers right. I was sold a extended warranty for my 2019 F250. I paid the truck off after 9 months of owning it and cancelled the used car extended warranty. I called GWC which is the used car warranty company. I was informed that only the dealer who sold the warranty had the ability to submit for cancellation. After 7 calls to Chillicothe Truck they finally decided to cancel the warranty for me. I signed the cancellation form on 11/09/2021 and have it in my email confirming the cancellation. It is now 03/17/2022 and I have spoke to the owner **** *** **** the GM several times and they both continue to blow me off. Seth told me on 3/14/2022 that because of COVID the process is taking longer than normal. I asked what was the normal refund time frame pre COVID and he stated 3 weeks. I then asked what is the time now, he stated up to 8 weeks. I then asked why it’s been over 5 months and I still can not get a straight answer. My next step is to report this to the attorney generals office as I believe this warrant program may actually be a scam hosted by Chillicothe Truck after reading other BBB complaints on both Chillicothe Truck as well as GWC warranty themselves. I paid over $4000 for this warranty, had it for less than a year and never used the program. I have been assured 9 times by **** *** **** this matter was being taken care. The last conversation took place on 3/14/2022 with Seth (owner) and he promised **** *he GM would call me by the COB on 3/16/2022. I never received a call. I’ve now called this dealer over 15 times total over 5 1/2 months. I’m now going to take legal action against both the dealer and the warranty company for failure to respond to a formal complaint.

      03/18/2022

The ESC has already been cancelled thru the company.  We are waiting on GWC to refund the money to us, once that money is received from the GWC company, we will issue the full refund owed to consumer.   We were told we should have refund by 3/25/2022.   Thanks for your patience, but GWC is out of our control
