      I drive a 2021 Toyota Venza Limited that I paid off in February of 2024. This vehicle was a gift to myself after completing cancer treatment and I am therefore especially fond of it. It’s also an expensive car that is usually garage kept and well cared for. My vehicle experienced damage that is coverable by my auto insurance (Progressive claim ***********). I called the Toyota dealer closet to me and they referred me to their affiliate repair shop that is next to the dealership. I therefore made an appointment with **** at The Body Shop at **** Kings Water Dr. ***** and took the car in for an estimate, and my insurance adjuster Alex F***** scheduled to come to see the car. The initial estimate to repair the vehicle was submitted to my insurance but was incomplete, missing the damage to the lift gate on the hatch back. I neither verbally nor in writing authorized repair on the car and my insurance adjuster said that he would go re assess the car and send me an updated estimate to repair that included all damage. I also engaged another repair shop in preparation to get a second estimate when the first estimate was complete. I gave no indication that I wanted The Body Shop to begin work. Yesterday (3/27/2024) my insurance agent reached out to me and said that The Body Shop said that the body work on my car was nearly complete. They did not have authorization to do the work and had not furnished myself nor my insurance company with a complete estimate of the work and how much it would cost. I indicated to my insurance adjuster that I was traveling for work but would be returning home that evening and wished to pick my car up immediately. Alex F***** from Progressive said that he was reaching out to The Body Shop. At 8pm on 3/27/2024, I arrived at The Body Shop with my spare key, to retrieve my vehicle and it was not on the premises. At this point my vehicle has been stolen and held hostage for payment of repair services I did not authorize and that were not disclosed to me. I requested a quote for repair work, but had not received that quote, and I want my car returned to me.

      car in the repair shop at The Body Shop in Kings Auto Mall and has been in the shop for 10 weeks now and still is not repaired, it is a **** ******* *** which has obsolete parts and the insurance and body shop has tried to locate a new hood and found one (5 weeks after the car was in the shop) that was severely damaged and could not be used, they found another used hood which also could not be used (week 8) and now on week 9 they are trying to fix the old hood (which had an issue on the hood which is why it is obsolete) and still have not fixed that hood and I don't feel the hood would be safe at this point, the car need to be totaled and paid out, the radiator support is also not available and they were going to bend the old support (which weakens the support) and put it back on, the insurance comapany is Erie Insurance, at this point it has affected my job and my personal life and I need to be able to move on, if I loose my job I will loose it all
