GECU has instituted a policy that a loan payment has to be made before noon on any given day in order for payment to be processed on the same day. Many people get paid on Friday afternoons and live paycheck to paycheck. If your payment falls due on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and you have to wait until you get paid on Friday to make the payment, you are out of luck. Then GECU charges a late payment fee. GECU is gouging its loan customers. At the very least, GECU should make the cut off time for payment acceptance the close of business on Friday. That would give loan customers the chance to get to the bank on their lunch hour. I know its hard to believe but not everyone has a phone attached to their hand, nor does everyone do electronic banking on their phones. No wonder so many people get hacked. Also, the GECU website is not user friendly. It is very difficult to find what you are looking for on the site.

In reference to the payment cutoff time, if a member makes a payment at a branch location with a GECU team member, that payment is posted to the loan account the same day. Alternatively, if a member makes a payment through our CallConnect service, if the payment is made by 8:00pm, the payment is posted to the loan account the same day. In reference to the late fees mentioned, GECU automobile loans have a 15-day grace period. As long as a payment is made within that grace period, a late fee will not be assessed. We have reviewed your current loan and can confirm that no late charges have been assessed. Gecu steals people's money with ridiculous fees....charging forced insurance when you have insurance...show proof of insurance and they still keep force insurance on you at 1000 dollar premium..and it is not legal to drive on...they hold checks for 30 days...you can't pay employees like that!!! GECU reached out to Mr. ********* by email and provided him the direct contact information to the Collections Management Team. We have not been contacted by him and have no other way of communicating with him at this time. Update: Mr. Reisinger called Jessica back due to the email sent to him. After some conversation she determined he was trying to place a complaint on General Electric Credit Union (GECU) in Cincinnati, OH. He was apologetic and stated he will resubmit the complaint under the correct credit union.Review from Mary M

We have been a member of GE Credit Union for 15 or 20 years. I’ve really never had any complaints or issues with them. Their rates have been competitive and their locations for us are convenient. They always seem pretty helpful, whether we just dropped in or made an appointment for help. They’ve done some updating of systems and cash machines in recent years which were definitively due. I became a member in 1962, that is 61 years ago. In all that time I have always been treated the best one could imagine. The service is friendly, fast and very special. And how can you beat the coin machine? In all the time I have been a member there were only 3 CEO's. They are all outstanding citizens with high morals and professionalism. It all starts there.
